so Baby PacMan seems to be a very common project. Is that because it requires both the arcade and pinball restoration skillsets, and so there are less people that can tackle it properly?

In my opinion, from an electronic point of vue, restoring a video game is similar to a pinball, but because of the playfield work, pinballs are much more complicated and time comsumming to restore.

Baby Pac-Man boards and power supply are very similar to any Bally pinballs from that era. Only major difference is the vidiot board that run the video section of the game.

There's a nice babypac repair guide from pinrepair and hope that will be enough for me to restart this game.

If anybody can restore it I understand you can HPR and it will be gorgeous when you're finished.
Pins: Lightning, Af-Tor, Embryon, Stellar Wars, Beat The Clock, Tropics Isle (project pin)
Gone: Space Station, Top Score, Flash Gordon, Solar Fire, Haunted House, Fire!, Vector, Bally Playboy

Its better to have played and lost than never to have played at all.

Super cool about the under-playfield lamp-board: Initially I thought it might be a retro-fit from a Mr. & Ms. Pacman pinball, but it looks different.

The Vidiot board can be a pain to repair, but the guide that HPR links is a great resource.

Good luck with bringing this survivor of the ravages of time back to life! This and Granny & the Gators are wonderful/weird examples of the madness that was Early 80's Bally!

This Babypac come directly from a container. I feel that this game was fonctionnal when the operator put it in the storage. There's no hack all around the machine.
-35 and -133 mpu board are 99.99% the same, only part to change is resistor R113 to a Diode 1N4148

This board did not survive the 30 years storage time because of the battery. I have a fresh -35 board to swap.
I redo the 4 connectors also burned by acid.

Yeah, you are totally correct: AS2519-133 is really just a modified -35 MPU. It's the Vidiot that scares me!

Yeah the vidiot board is scary, i'm not out of the trouble but i can get all 10 flashes out of it and 7 flashes from the -133.
But still no video game, i can get now the video test mode :-) No communication test yet.
Pretty sure when communication is restored between -133 and vidiot, the video game will come.

Merci David, au point ou j'en suis je commence a croire a des sockets ''flaky'' ou des ic défectueux.
Ca risque d'etre plus long mais je vais finir pas en venir a bout :)
