Pre-Order: Large Format DE/Sega LED DMD
Hey guys/gals! I've had a handful of my clients reach out to me regarding their large 192x64 DMD's failing. Where replacement plasma versions cost more than $500 USD and existing LCD/LED replacements sitting around $400 USD plus shipping and tax its not an easy pill to swallow. There are 4 games tha...

Depends on the title in question. No chance you're finding a Black Hole or Haunted house for $14-1500 these days, let along a Q-Bert's Quest or Spirit!.

Re: What is your definition of "Restored"?
1- condition is ALWAYS a question of interpretation. What is mint to one might be shit to another. Your own eyes don't lie... 2- this discussion is one of many that makes it virtually impossible to sell a machine. People's expectations become unrealistic. Even if someone restores a game beyond leve...

Re: Has the well almost run dry?
As I have told MANY collectors over the past year or so, it's a damn good thing I got into the hobby when I did because if I was getting in now (read in the past year) I *wouldn't* be getting in! The cost to fun ratio is so far out of whack I'd rather spend my money on other things... And is the rea...

I would say the bronze is better than a blown out original. Hell, the bronze is probably better than most originals.

Re: Pat Lawlor and Jack Dialed IN! new game
I got to play this game over the weekend, and for anyone that likes Lawlor games will really enjoy this title. I too wasn't thrilled with the theme, but it shoots great and there is a TON to do/shoot with lots of cool twists. Don't knock it until you try it is all I can say, especially with all the ...

Good job buddy! Having done many of these types of rides myself I know exactly what you've gone through leading up to and now afterwards. Always a great accomplishment!

I'm with Adam on this one... Out of all the games I've owned over the years, Black Hole is the one that sticks out in my mind as the most difficult to acheive.

I brought a game to my brothers Jack & Jill and set it up for $1 play. It was pretty good at raising $ for the bride & groom.
I would totally have a game at my reception.

Re: Shit...when I started collecting...
Played hooky from work and drove from Toronto to Ottawa. Picked up a Uhaul trailer in Ottawa, then grabbed the Funhouse and hauled ass back to Toronto. That was a long day... mainly because I refused to take the 401. I've had many pins come and go, but Funhouse still remains!

Best one was in my Whirlwind. "Inspected by L.CHRISTMAS" Unfortunately I never took a pic of it before it left my collection.

Re: identify these flippers
For starters you'll have to replace the lower right flipper base plate if you want to convert it back to DE. From there I would suspect you have everything you'd need in the rebuild kit, unless the coil was also changed to a WMS coil.

Re: So,how does Ghostbuster play ?
People complain it drains really easily on the left, anybody think the same? From what I've seen, people just like to complain for the sake of complaining. I've heard it drains on the left, or that the gap between the flippers is too big, or that the right ramp shot is way too tight... blah blah bl...

Re: soldering tips wanted
The only tip I have is practice, practice and more practice. I've had local collectors struggle for hours on something to the point they just can't get whatever they are working on done and call me in... only to literally take a minute to finish up what they were trying to do.

Re: Saving an abandoned Street Fighter
Ultimarc will be your friend if you want to convert the game to MAME using the original monitor and jamma setup. J-Pac and an ArcadeVGA card will fit the bill. But honestly, I doubt it would take much to get the PCB running 100% given the pic you posted. Could be something as simple as reseating the...

Re: System 11A mpu board
If I can make a suggestion... it might be better to test YOUR mpu in someone else's game to see if it's ok rather than test someone else's known good PCB in your Pinbot. If there IS a problem in your game, the risk of damaging someone else's good MPU is high. If your MPU has an issue, putting it in ...

WPC Speaker Pop Eliminator
Hey pinball people! A few weeks ago Wong and I were chatting and he sent me a pinside thread that was discussing the really nasty sound all WPC games make from the speakers when the games are turned off. Mike said that all his WPC games do this but his Creech was particularly bad and it was driving ...

Which versions of the STM32 are compatible with the sheild? (there are a LOT of different versions available) Is it just the discovery model that works or do the Nucleo's work too? What versions of the discovery model are known to work?

Seems very similar to the plastic that goes on top of the rectifier board equipped in the cabinet, in 1980+ Bally pinball machines. - Sylvain. Syl, normally I would agree with you but that plastic usually has a hole near the middle to adjust the HV trim pot and this one doesn't. I'm thinking this c...

Re: Rate your collection -> Hardest to Easiest to find
I'm not sure anything in my collection was all that difficult to obtain, probably because I never really went out on a mission to obtain them I just jumped on them when the opportunity presented itself. That said I do have a few rarities in the line-up. #1- Starlight. This is fairly rare on it's own...
