Re: Pulp Fiction

"There were 2 at the show - the one at the CoinTaker booth was in R-rated mode all weekend. It was the one in the PinBallStar booth that was in family mode." I did not realize that. I always picked the shorter line which was PinballStar. Foo Fighters will be a favorite for sure but just no...

Re: Pulp Fiction

Longest lines at Allentown were to play Pulp Fiction. It's a great looking game and fun to play. Love the call outs and there is lots to accomplish. Unfortunately, just before we got to it, the operator turned it to family mode because some parent complained. After that the speech stopped at mother....

Well...................After seeing the two child games "GALACTIC TANK FORCE: (have you seen the last promo video? :puke ) and "SCOOBY-DOO PINBALL" (worst soundtrack ever and looks like a scaled down version of Flintstones) my money would be on Pulp Fiction, The Godfather, Cactus Cayo...

Re: JJP Godfather?

If you haven't seen the video, (the best sales pin vid ever done) I highly recommend watching it. This game is taking pinball to a new high. It looks fantastic. I can see the lineups in Allentown this year to play it. In my opinion it will go to #1 on Pinside. Yes, it's expensive. :taz GNR also loo...

Re: Chrome plating or what?

I'm now waiting for a quote from Ottawa Brass to rechrome an old Chicago Coin coin door...I'd rather somewhere local where I can drop stuff off. Always worried if it gets lost in the mail since most of this stuff is unobtanium. They don't mention chrome on their website, only brass, bronze, stainle...

Re: Chrome plating or what?

Lots of plating companies in town. Here's an old thread with a recommendation and photos of results: https://www.maaca.org/viewtopic.php?t=19707 I went to the last one that does chrome in Ottawa a year ago and was told they were closed many moons ago. Other types of plating around, yes. See my post...

Re: Who does powdercoating in Ottawa?

I went to Polishing and Plating GG Inc. in Montreal as I could not find chrome plating in Ottawa anywhere. (As suggested by Red Ketchup I think). I had 3 aprons done in Chrome mirror finish. Including buying raw aprons from Pinball life, I was a little under $400.00 each. Yes that is very expensive ...

Re: Steve Ritchie leaves Stern for JJP

As I read one comment, It makes you wonder about the business sense of JJ pinball that releases only 1 game a year to hire another designer when they already have several talented and well known ones. Don't get me wrong, I love Steve Richie and have several of his designed games. Maybe it's only par...

I value mine at 8k. Completly restored by my friend with lots of new parts, vram, clearcoat, new decals, etc. and all led. Not for sale. One for sale in California new old stock still on pallet at 6k. Might have battery acid damage. Another used in the US at 3850 US with cabinate wear. http://user.x...

Re: So... what is the future of new pinballs?

When I said as it's most popular since its hay day, "Hay day" meaning it will never be as popular as back in the eighties. Since video arcades and the computer almost killed pinball, I think it is at a 2nd all time high since then. Stern, JJP, and quite a few new manufactures that were unh...

Re: So... what is the future of new pinballs?

Would I buy a new pinball before playing it to see if I loved it? Never!, and I have a fair chunk of change tied up in my collection. Is pinball on it's way out? I doubt it. In fact, I see it growing with more of my friends now buying mostly nib. Once covid more or less subsides, I will guess that m...

Re: Ottawa metal plating service? Update: Found - Now with pics!

As far as Chrome goes, I searched Ottawa last year and the one place left in the east end that was still listed, closed several years ago as I found out upon arrival. Otherwise you would be going through a middle man who is going to send the parts to Montreal anyway. (like a custom bike shop) I'm wa...

Re: Found - Elvira's House of Horrors

Congrats Craig. The VUK on that game a foot up to the right of the flipper seems to be have an alignment problem when firing the ball out which usual drains. (It still gives you a ball save) Kevin spent days on it until he finally fixed it. That VUK piece is a really bad design on Stern. (Their fix ...

2. Predator (There is already a new improved Alien in the works...)
3. A better Waterworld revisited or another awesome funny and fun to play pin like Elvira HOH
