Re: Collector Quirks

How about:

The Loaner: Lends out pins to buddies especially to hide them from his wife.
And
The Loner: The guy who doesn't associate with anybody and has an unknown amount of pins.

Collector Quirks

You might not believe it but we all fall into at least one of these catagories to some extent. Which ones do you honestly believe you are? The Hoarder: The collector who can't seem to let a single pin go. The Showman: The collector who only buys what are deemed to be the best name pins on the plane...

Re: Alouette Amusement Gift Card Request

The problem with polls is that they scroll the way. Unless somebody posts a statement, no matter how many entries you get it won't get bumped to the top of the new post list.

Alouette Amusement Gift Card Request

Now that the P1AG parts department has left the stage in Quebec, Alouette Amusements decided to step up and fill the void. Our very own RAB has progressively been building the parts department to support the local operators and collectors. P1AG were never fans of the gift certificate concept, but I'...

I pulled this excerpt from one of RAB's old Pow-Wow threads on Pitt Street. Below I'll try to catalog who the codenames were. If you're not up for one of my metaphysical pieces its best to hit the Next Topic button on your top right. ;) In one way or another throughout life, you are going to meet p...

A lot of us have been on MAACA for a long time. If you have any excerpts from threads long gone you'd like to repost for posterity or just a great memory post them here. We can reminisce as a group.

I received a friendly text from an old friend regarding my post "A World Under Glass" and it inspired me to bump this one just for fun.

A World Under Glass

Technically, winter is not the most favorable time of year for most pinball collectors. This is principally due to the fact the majority of us are old and resent the frigid weather. For me not only do I tolerate it, I see it as a productive time of year for improving the quality of my collection and...

Re: Opgs is done son

Josh your response was well spoken and quite admirable. If it wasn't for your first show and the people you touched I wouldn't be part of this community today. As always, I've brought one or two machines every year since the birth of the Ottawa Pinball and Gameroom Show and motivated paying customer...

Re: Power at the show?

Those are Yesterdays photos. They put a real negative atmosphere on people on the border of coming. Our friends will be there in the flea market will be open. That's the main purpose for us. I brought a machine and will be bringing a paying customer for Sunday. What are you saying Chris? Is there p...

Re: 2 Seconds.....

The green smiley faces makes me unsure what you mean. Are you confirming the show is a go and that it truly will rock my world (which I'm hoping for), or is this joking/sarcasm because the power grid is rubble? You read it wrong. The show will rock and be the biggest. The city says the power should...

Take a moment and share the Ottawa Pinball and Gameroom Show with as many people on your social media as possible.

I couldn't lay a stronger request. It's going to be the biggest show in Canadian history.

Re: Coil Emergency Ottawa Show

Ah, it is a flipper coil with two windings, thanks for the detail. AQ-25-500/34-4500 ? Machine-gunning is usually caused by the small weak fine wire 'hold' coil being opened (the 34-4500 portion here). The break of the small wire is often at one of the coil lug. -Sylvain. Yes. I don't believe the w...

Re: Coil Emergency Ottawa Show

I am sure you already know, but indicating here for the general public with less pinball repair experience who might be reading: Make sure you also address the reason the original coil burned. Otherwise the replacement one will burn soon after replacement. Cheers, -Sylvain. Good point. Machine gunn...

Coil Emergency Ottawa Show

I need a Bally coil AQ-25-500 to bring my Silverball Mania to the Ottawa Show this weekend. I just blew it before packing up. Can anyone spare one and bring it Friday evening? I'll give you $20 even if it's used. I need to install it Friday night and can't be back until Sunday morning so timings cri...

Man Pete I'm definitely interested. Let me know what I have to do if everyone passes. I need a trip to Peterborough anyway to see a man about a dog. Kingston is on the way.
