Re: Black Knight issues

It won't be a transistor. If the bell is in the cabinet & not on the playfield it's fed by a different red +38V wire and a different pin on 3J3 than the playfield uses.

Re: Black Knight issues

IDC connectors are a really a big problem with Williams games from this era. I changed all those connectors from my vidz and they are now working like new. ^^^ My money is on this also. ^^^ HPR & Sylvain have pointed out early on in this thread that the connectors should be suspect on these 40 yr o...

Re: Black Knight issues

Good day all. Checked at pin 6 and at molex red wire, there is 35.6 V there. Checked each coil and the voltage at each coil varies slightly but it is at 30.1 V. Removed the head ground strap and reinstalled ensuring a good connection. The coils do not fire. The flippers all work and the game goes i...

Re: Black Knight issues

Memory Protect Switch does NOT switch the coil power on/off for this generation of games as sylvain pointed out. You need to follow the 38 volt Coil B+ from the Power Supply Board down to the playfield. It's not really difficult since it's only ONE red wire. Start at the Power Supply connector 3J3 p...

Re: Tech: Bally Playboy

Recap: It's not the MPU board (or EPROM's) since you already swapped it with another. It's not the Solenoid Driver Board since you swapped it with several others. It's not the Sound Board since you already disconnected it from the circuit. It's not the wiring from the Solenoid Driver Board to the pl...

Re: Tech: Bally Playboy

Specifically check MPU Board J4 Pin 2 to Solenoid Driver Board J4 Pin 4.
It's appears to be stuck "high".
Either shorted to +5v or to shorted to adjacent MPU Board J4 Pin 3 or Solenoid Driver Board J4 Pin 5.

Or as Sylvain stated, wrong EPROM's for the game.

Re: Incredible Hulk - sound issues

Hi Mark,
Check switch number 20 on the mpu board.
If it's off it will not sound on scoring.

Flip it off and on a few times then power cycle.
Pretty sure that's all it is.

Hi, I'm Brent, have been around this board since shortly after the four founding fathers created this gem. Been involved in pinball and electronics since the late 70's. In & out of the pinball hobby several times (not nearly as many times as Sparky whom I'm certain holds the world record for that), ...

Hello again, bonjour!

Hi Everyone, been a long time since I posted much on this board since my last major projects over 10 years ago, on the "original" maaca site. Sort of got burned-out on the whole hobby, but that happens some times. Anyway, still don't own any pins and probably won't. But I do miss the hobby, the peop...

Re: Tough challenge: need help to remember an old 70’s pinball

Never heard of that one ... I do remember many times on EM games when the Match Unit would break down (not rotate) and always match on the same 10 point value. If you were having a crappy game you could let the last ball drain when your score 10 pt value was at this known match number & get a free g...
