Re: Looking for 3-slot arcade door + Atari steering wheel parts

Another update. I have most of the steering wheel parts I need now (although one of my encoder wheels has a crack). One of the last things I'm trying to locate now is a correct coin box for this machine. I'm going for the full monty on this restoration and want it as original as possible. If anyone ...

Re: Looking for 3-slot arcade door + Atari steering wheel parts

Thanks Shaun! PM sent. Looks like a decent door... although the shipping would probably hurt both ways.

Re: [FOR SALE] Williams TAXI

I used the hardtop on Firepower. The look and the feel is great. The main difference you will notice from a playfield with clearcoat is that the hardtop has holes that go around certain things like some of the bent metal guides. It's also a lot more shiny than a clearcoat (hard to explain), but I'm ...

Re: [FOR SALE] Williams TAXI

I've had some interest in the hardtop on its own and the spare ramps.

If anyone is just interested in the pin, I'm happy to split them up as sell the pin on its own for $3300.

[SOLD] Williams TAXI - $3000

Hey everyone, I picked up this Taxi in a package buy about a year ago. I've had my fun and looking to change things up a little. It's the more desirable Marylin version. I have also added new repro sys11 legs and the machine also comes with an original manual in good shape, new rubber ring set and a...

Need some Super Sprint measurements

Hey Guys, I'm working on a new Super Sprint and I'm about to cut a few new parts for it on the CNC. One of them is the large rear access panel. Does anyone have this machine nearby? I need some dimensions for the vent hole and keyhole placement on the door. May as well try and make it close to origi...

Looking for 3-slot arcade door + Atari coin box

Hey Guys, Some of you know that I managed to find myself another Atari SUPER SPRINT and I am really excited to have this childhood love-of-my-life back in the game room. I've decided that I'm going to perform the best possible restoration that I can on this baby. I'm looking for a few parts and just...

Re: Building my own FATHOM... getting started

I'm so happy to see this conversion finished! It's hard to explain, but I felt really guilty selling the project half completed. When I ended up buying an original Fathom and I needed to make space, it seemed like a good decision. However, seeing it bounce around from person to person made me wonder...

Re: Matching parts to members (And you know that notion, just crossed my mind)

Thanks Robert. Yes, in-line for sure. They look just like what I've got in Fathom. The coils are the main things but yes, the bracket would be a big help. If you have other parts for that assembly (coil stop, plunger, lever etc..) I'll take as much as you have. But, worst case, I may have old ones k...

Re: Matching parts to members (And you know that notion, just crossed my mind)

Sorry Robert. For the life of me I could not find the Flipper coil designation in the manual. They just give a part # for the entire assembly with no specifciation for the coil. It's this one (for the right one anyway) https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/ASE-1587-102 I've even combed thro...

Re: Matching parts to members (And you know that notion, just crossed my mind)

I forgot about this thread. I'm slowly getting my prototype Bally Heavy Metal Meltdown back to its former glory and one of the biggest hacks on this machine are the flipper mechs. The right one has been completely replaced with a gottlieb mech. Would love to get a right side Bally flipper mech and t...

[SOLD] SWORDS of FURY

First off.... LIONMAN!!! Yeah, I'm thinking of letting go of my very nice SoF. The game has a great playfield (with good mylar) and the cabinet is very nice. It has a few small chips in the corner of the head and was drilled, but it actually shows very well and would be easy enough to touch-up. Plas...

Re: FIREPOWER drop target mod

Very well documented. I understand the fact that drop targets are more interesting to shoot than stationary targets. But you loose some speed of the game, and I think that speed is more important. Yes, that's the usual debate when it comes to this mod. There is no question that it will play differe...

Re: FIREPOWER drop target mod

The last few days have been pretty boring and I'm jumping back and forth between projects. Nothing very exciting to report on Firepower. Just a lot of wiring. But, as promised, here are a lot more photos showing all of the connections I mentioned in the write-ups above. First, let's look at the new ...

Re: FIREPOWER drop target mod

Firepower is in storage for more than 10 years but you gave me the adrenaline rush to start it as soon as possible ! It's the next pinball project, i'm tired of those beautiful Bally's :-) I agree. I'm a bit tired of my classic Bally. The only ones that still hold my interest are Fathom and Eight B...

Re: FIREPOWER drop target mod

Thanks a lot, it's very apreciated and that's a very useful way to use this forum :-) My pleasure. I hate how some of these tutorials always make the project seem so simple... when, in fact, it is often quite a bit more complex. Hopefully this helps a few people. I remember when I did the 3rd magne...

Re: FIREPOWER drop target mod

I also thought the Column 3 (GRN/ORG) wiring to the drop target banks might be confusing for some, so I created this image to explain in more detail. This photo is taken directly from the guide, so it doesn't look exactly like mine. It shows the back of the '1-3' Drop Target Bank. makingconnections1...

Re: FIREPOWER drop target mod

Okay... lots of wiring happening now! As I mentioned before, the guides that I linked at the start of this project do a pretty good job of explaining things... except when it gets to step 10 and you need to figure out where all the wires need to connect to. Moving the original standup target wiring ...

Re: FIREPOWER drop target mod

Last night I started soldering the wires over to the new parts. The drop target bank is pretty easy and it's just a matter of moving the common wire from the stand-up targets to a single point on the back of the DT bank. My drop target bank already had the original daisy-chained connections in place...

Re: FIREPOWER drop target mod

I haven't looked into the new ROMs very much. Has anyone tried them on a real game? I'm wondering if it's worth considering?

I started installing the guts last night!
