I don't know why but this followed me home today. It is sitting in quarantine in the van for a few days before it comes in. I said no more projects & I just moved a couch back into the games room. Now the damn couch has to move again.

Re: Buying and selling during COVID-19

Some times I like to screw with those low baller wanted ads trying to buy machines for nothing and string them along for awhile...... :) "My husband had several pinball machines in our basement when he passed way. I have no idea what they are worth, but I think the names are Twilight Zone, Adams Fam...

Re: Buying and selling during COVID-19

In the coming months anything listed on Kijiji is going to be in a buyers market. People without work are going to get more desperate and list their "valuables" to try and stay afloat. It is sad, but in the end a pinball is only worth what the market will pay at the time. I have a number of items li...

Re: MAACA meeting using ZOOM!!

Oh boy. Sounds like a I missed a good time. I've been f'ing stumped by this stupid Force II GI lighting short. I'm about ready to start desoldering every socket till I find it. Hobbies. Oh boy - I played pinball today, drove my German imported LT31 camper to the airport, took a freshly restored Pipe...

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

So I told myself not 2 hours before I am not going to get into another pinball restoration. I'm done. I even said that when someone was picking up Alien Poker just before I got into this. I've had a Force II sitting on the back burner for years...Long enough I don't even remember where I bought it f...

Re: Flight 2000

Nice scores. I only managed to just break 3,000,000 on mine before i sold it. It was bastardy fast with the new PF polished and waxed :) Took 6 months for some of the wax to wear off and become playable. Wish I'd kept it, one of the ones I regret selling.

I love fixing old school boards and keeping machines original, however when it comes to power supplies I just replace with modern stuff.

Re: Northstar Pinball bar (Montreal), no free games

As a teenager I recall how much fun it was to find a newish machine on location where the extra ball or free game thresholds were still set fairly low. :) It certainly is an element of pinball and would take away from the experience.

Paypal really doesn't offer any protection. The one time I had to claim something back, they supported the seller despite a fully documented claim with photos. I refuse to support paypal anymore.

Re: Hack or not

One of the hack's I really hate is replacing chips that someone previously worked on without socketing. The people who do repairs at this quality level usually damage the traces too.

Re: Marco Specialties shipping ... WTF????

Last time I ordered from Marco was 2016. I paid $49.99 for overnight shipping which includes brokerage. That was a few days before a league night when Dr Who spit out its gearbox. Mind you - I called and had them process the order because I didn't like the online options.
