Re: For the Love of Pinball.... What the Hell Did I Just Do?

my longest was to Burlington Vermont for my flipperless 1947 Ballyhoo, which perhaps counts as the craziest among some of you who are all stuck on the thought of pinballs needing ~flippers~ ;)

I've come to the conclusion that the tapered rubbers are supposed to be installed with the narrow side down, to discourage rather than encourage air balls.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

I spent much of the past day gawking at the Sega R360. After a decade of hard work acquiring and then restoring one, GALLOPING GHOSTS ARCADE now has an R360 up and running and available to the public. Once this pandemic is over, arcade fans have what is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to t...

Re: have room? Atari Space lords!

are there decals available, or could you scan one side and get the graphics done up for the alternate side?
As with any major arcade move, please make sure you will is in order and your next of kin identified.

Re: THE MAACA DAILY NEWS! Your daily read about YOU,the members!

The other night JF came over and with masks on he gave me a tutorial in cleaning steppers and now my Regatta is playing excellent once again! It's amazing how so many types of grease don't have the longevity of whatever they used back then, even the PBR grease. Regatta is such an amazing wood rail. ...

Can't cut a taper with the laser though.
I think they should offer premium ones hand-tapered. People would pay the extra $20 or whatever

Re: Seeburg Slot Machine Price Check

Wow! thanks cait! I've been told it uses Canadian quarters. It has a payout hopper cabinet underneath it. Powers on, but it’s been acting up so they are not touching it. Oh no worries. I don't actually LIKE playing slots, but I find them fascinating as machines, so I lurk on a few of the slot machi...

I posted your photo to a slot machine group, and got this response: "Seeburg early 80's ... Bally had a very similar slot... .. Bally Continental .. Made in the USA, exported to France, and then reimported.. Maybe setup for eu electric. And the coin mechanism will need replaced... hopefully whatever...

Re: Seeburg Slot Machine Price Check

you have the pay the buyer to take it away ;) maybe if it didn't work  these things also weigh a tonne. A tangent: someone tried to sell me a one-ball horse racing game from the 1940s, the kind that weighs like 400 pounds. I explained how they're like old pianos in that so few people want to f...

Re: Seeburg Slot Machine Price Check

You see these EM slot machines on kijiji fairly often in the $1k range but I have no idea if they sell because you see the posts up for a long time. But you have to verify it works 100% as the pool of people willing to take these on as project is rather small. (most slot enthusiasts the want purely ...

Re: Playfield Protectors

I highly recommend the product. They are slowly producing ones for old EMs, but if you find they have one for your EM machine it's absolutely essential. Takes away all the issues related to cupped inserts and seals the playfield from future wear.

Re: when can bars turn pinball machines in again?

TARG IS REOPENING!!! They have protectors between every machine and spaced things out more, and are doing a 40-person limit. They are moving to a one-price freeplay model which I think is a super smart move. Lots of cleansing and preventative measures being employed. Everyone that feels comfortable,...
