Re: Kids today don't know nuthin' about Audio (Funny!)

Every generation will contend with the antiquated technology and traditions surrounding it created by the rituals of the prior generation.

Re: Videos on the history of pinball

I don't know very early pinball history as much. In the last 3 parts, nothing stood out as obviously wrong. This guy knows his stuff. Yeah lots of people just kind of gloss-over the prewar stuff because who are we kidding it's the flippers that matter to 99.99% of people. So people just fill-in the...

Re: Videos on the history of pinball

I'm 55 seconds in and ready to smash my monitor LOL
90 seconds in and I'm ready to cry in the corner.

I hope the rest is better but it's ok for people to just say they don't understand early pinball history and move on to post-ww2 and the flipper era! :D :FP:

Re: James Bond the next Stern

So apparently there's a Bond 60th anniversary edition, entirely different game, designed by Elwin. Street level: no ramps. 10 drops including a set of inline drops, spinning odd job hat ala Tesseract, 4 spinners... and a rumoured 20k USD price tag LMAO Reveal coming eventually bt here's a leaked photo

The First Video Game Console, A New History

if you're into home video games, you have to check this https://thehistoryofhowweplay.wordpress.com/2022/09/16/the-first-video-game-console-a-new-history/ There has been a lot written about the technology that became the Odyssey console by Magnavox, but not much understanding. Even though we have ha...

still nothing official but it seems to be a Pro / Prem / LE releases, thank god.
The Pro looks absolutely amazing, the kind of thing that will finally challenge Godzilla for dominance on the assembly lines.

Re: James Bond the next Stern

It legit looks like an incredibly fun game, and includes the nods to mid-aughts Stern games that I'm happy to see returning. If it's priced like B66 and EHOH with no Pro model, who knows how many years it will be until I get to spend time on one. I've still never played Batman 66. Maybe in 25 years ...

eremeka research project

I have spent the last year working on a site to document all of the eremeka (electromechanical) machines from Japan. This project pulls from many different sources and is an attempt to synthesize all of the information in to one place. eremeka is slang (a portmanteau romanization) that refers to ele...

Re: Is Ottawa Pinball & Gameroom Show ever coming back?

I don't know any details and really it's not my place to speculate, but I assume that the Ottawa Pinball crew (pinhead + mad titan) have not been able to get back 100% on their feet after the tornado, followed by a plague. :( They took a huge loss when the tornado hit, and then every location they o...

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

I put together a public want list since the topic came up in a few conversations recently http://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2022/08/my-want-list.html Some of the things are a bit obscure so I figured it's best to share widely in case someone spots these. It also kind of indicates where I'm at with t...

Modern wear-rated connectors with new tin alloys just don't degrade in the same way unless they're exposed to corrosive atmospheres.
