Got up the nerve to heat up & knock out unlevel inserts in my NOS Egg Head playfield. All came out cleanly.
My son is busy torture-testing all of my machines! Replaced Q6 on Monopoly that had failed. Bought replacement opto boards for X-Men LE it seems to lose track of balls.

About the price of a Stern Premium. Artwork is good, has that "world under glass" feeling. Not sure there is a Canadian distributor.
1100 machines is a lot for a new company, no rush to buy this.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Working on Gottlieb Egg Head. Used some paint stripper (briefly) on the backbox to remove latex and expose the original paint in a few places to get colour match and prepare for scanning to create laser-cut stencils. I'm working my way through the motor board, these Gottlieb parts clean up nicely. W...

Re: Seeking advice on the most recommended places to purchase pinball glass
Expensive to buy in Ottawa. Bought 5 sheets and paid about $120 a sheet I think. I'd try Civic Glass, think the owner has pinball machines and might give you a better deal. I'd PM https://www.pinballrevolution.com/members/dino-z.740/ as he has sold tempered glass for a lot less than I could get it i...

Re: Williams EM Space Mission Won't Reset
I'd start by looking at the Reset Cycle which is described in https://www.ipdb.org/files/2253/Williams_1976_Space_Mission_Instruction_Manual_Jan_1976_no_schematics.pdf You do need credits on the reel -- unless the zero switch on the credit unit has been adjusted for free play so the machine always t...

I'm not sold on the lower playfield layout, especially that right hand side.

I must have bought hundreds of dollars of hardware from the US when fixing up my Chicago Coin 1967 Bullseye pitch and bat. If you find you need any screws etc. ping me I might have them.

Re: Pinball Parts Canada
Just order from Pinball Resource but get the number correct, it is 21-50004B I think. It’s the cheapest way. Where are you located? I think Rob in Montreal places periodic orders with Pinball Resource. If you really want to order from Canada — https://flippers.com/catalog_oc/index.php?route=product/...

Some fees are optional and you can opt out. All listed on Waterloo’s site.
Just got back from a straight drive from Waterloo to Ottawa. My son (in CS) has an even higher bill .
Let’s hope co-op kicks in and helps pay for it.

It was a labour of love, I maybe broke even with free labour
But I’m not in the hobby to make money! I enjoy both fixing and playing, learned lots — but still a ton left to learn.

Great work, looks nice! I too started with a four player game not realizing those 16 score reels to clean....
Also didn't realize how much of restoration is just cleaning -- but it is still very satisfying.

I have ordered from Centennial Glass last year -- $91 + tax for a sheet of standard-sized glass (make sure you ask for NO LOGO so they don't put a stamp on the glass).
Would be great if Mike would stock it at Pinball Medics!

Tried painting the coin door with Krylon silver hammered spraypaint -- it didn't give any hammered effect at all
I'll wait for it to cure, lightly sand and try Tremclad I guess. Had good success with Krylon products before but not this time.

Finally some decent weather! Cutting a new playfield for Chicago Coin Bullseye Baseball. It’s simple enough, some pattern tracing router bits and Forstner bits and it is cut, painted grey on the back. I’ll seal it today and then I’ll be ready to start painting. Will be my second bare wood playfield ...
