Re: Wizard of OZ 75th Ruby Red Edition WOZ

If it's of any help to anyone, I've played this pin a couple times, most recently about 2 months ago and it was spotless and working perfectly.

Re: Shipping an arcade game in Ontario

Day and Ross is much cheaper than that, but will not insure, you'll need to rely on your home insurance to cover it.

SOLD: Theatre of Magic - Looking for TZ, MM, TAF, maybe AFM

I have a very nice TOM. I love it, but I've had it for a couple years and played it a lot and would like to refresh the lineup a bit, so considering trades +/- cash for equivalent b/w titles of the same era. Interested in Twilight Zone, Addams, Medieval Madness, maybe Attack From Mars. I guess I'm o...

Re: What is your most crazy insane repair ever?

I removed everything from the top of a modern pin (ie lots of stuff going on above the pf) and some of the stuff from beneath the playfield for a solid shop job. 6 months later when I go to put it all back together I accidentally jumble up the parts, then find I've also lost all my pics. It was a he...

Re: Conseils 1er achat - Advices 1st purchase

Tsss... La règle numéro un quand t'as trouvé une machine que tu veux aller voir, c'est de ne pas en parler ! Well, you probably wouldn't say "the bk2k that is only listed on the poster on the telephone pole at the corner of Main and 3rd", but just saying the title can't get anyone in too ...

Re: Conseils 1er achat - Advices 1st purchase

Never owned a BK2K, so I can't offer any personal advice. Took a quick look at pinside for "buying advice" threads on bk2k, there was only one, and the only advice was to check for magnasave wear, and bubbling mylar around inserts. So I'm thinking there are no problem mechanisms on the mac...

Re: Am I the ball?

That's actually an interesting question. Some of the more popular fiction writing is immersive and popular for a similar reason - they never actually describe the main character, so you become the main character and view the story through their eyes, rather than from a third person view. Maybe this ...

Re: Stolen Pins

That's horrible news. Everyone should start using and start asking sellers about the serial numbers attached to their machines. It should be common place to post S/Ns on sale ads. http://www.ipsnd.net/ It's not only good as a theft deterrent, but helps catalog what's left out there for posterity. T...

Re: Conseils 1er achat - Advices 1st purchase

In general, make sure there is not corrosion on the battery holder and/or mpu. Take off the glass and start a game and ensure that all the targets and mechanisms work properly. Check if the general illumination and controlled lamps are all working properly. Check for stripped leg bolts and the plate...

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

Did heavy shopping on my Elvira. Full topside teardown, cleaning, waxing. Installed a makralon playfield protector and waxed it. Removed a mod to the boogie men, which had been replaced with plastic skeletons. The mod damaged the original posts, which are unobtanium, so I 3D printed replacements in ...

Those are the least-pointy Christian Marche people I've seen. I wonder if this was leading into, or leading out of, that phase of style.

Interesting, can't wait to play it.

I am curious, what's with someone hand drilling stuff on a completed playfield?

I think it's a varistor. There seems to be a 20SP series specced online.
