Re: TILT!Audio
On WPC the sound adjustment works both in the door and using the board. I preset the ranges for bb and cab for the speakers used on the board and then adjust general volume from the door switches.

Re: What is the best video game you’ve ever played?
I'd say my answer is based on what was technically feasible at the time and what reward I got from playing it. Played the hell out of Defender, by far more than any other arcade at the time. I played through Shadow of the Colossus more than once which isn't something I think I've ever otherwise done...

Re: TILT!Audio
There's a spot for an unpopulated optional Arduino co-processor on that board revision. I see you have both DE and WPC connectors mounted and using DAC. What's it going into?

Re: FS: Strange but True - TAF shipping box and internals
Small world. I bought my TZ from Nasty Nick many years ago. Might have been the one you looked at. Story was he routed it pretty much across the road from his shop and it didn't get much play. I don't know about the across the road part but it didn't get much play.

Is there a story behind someone hanging onto a large empty box for a quarter century?

My profile code has evolved a bit. Posted my first Altsound profile that was a product of my software. https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/9418-ij_reorch_remasterzip/ I'll post a video of IJ once I make one. I also have a Chris Granner Altsound profile I made for TZ that has the original DCS music tra...

Re: TILT!Audio
Ok in the vein of advanced user audio tools I have written a conversion tool for assisting with conversion of folder based audio files to Altsound format. To create Altsound profiles it requires matching folder names to csv file name of Altsound.csv records in batches. The script to run through the ...

Re: TILT!Audio
There's no requirement for SSH, SFTP or even converting files from ogg to wav. Since I'm conversant with doing that I drill down to optional ways to use the unit and inevitably someone who wanted to know and is equally conversant would have the answer. An SD card could be supplied that's already set...

Re: TILT!Audio
Same place I was looking at them. The "regulars" are all out of stock and when they are in limit supply to 1. I don't know if I posted my code to convert .ogg to .wav. Anyway if I didn't here it is. You prob want to do this to load sounds more efficiently. Altsound is in .ogg which needs to be decom...

Re: TILT!Audio
Who in Canada has stock of Zero 2 W's? They are currently in short supply. The software license is tied to the serial on the Raspberry Pi. It's easiest just to set everything up and either copy down the serial number from the startup callout i.e. "Tilt!Audio is running with trial license number 'xxx...

Re: New Life for PC as EPROM burner
A little update on using Wilem programmers. I know there's others like the GQ-4x4, the TL866ii plus, the TOP 3000 etc. that will do some of the lower vpp chips out there but the old venerable Willem can live on using Windows 10 with the right setup and flash those plus 21vpp and 25vpp EPROMs reliabl...

Re: *3D printed parts thread*
Nice write up. The final Corvette part looks ideal. Similarly if I want to do more customization to an existing design I will often will convert to solid, clean up extra facets and then project faces onto various sketch planes as 2d sketches. If those 2d projected sketches are not precise I will the...

Re: *3D printed parts thread*
That existing .stl is a broken mesh. Easiest solution would likely be with Fusion 360 to convert to solid using Prismatic conversion but it still would require fixing the broken mesh and Prismatic conversion which is a paid feature in Fusion 360. To get around that for something like this if you jus...

Re: RFM rotating saucer mod I made
If I was going to make the mod I'd probably redesign it around an Arduino Nano and addressable LEDs then just program effects. I think I could get more out of using colour and could interface it with Q45 the same way to kick it into a different colour/sequence mode; maybe others depending when they ...

Re: RFM rotating saucer mod I made
They just slide up underneath and friction fit in place. It's been awhile but I remember soldering up a bunch of off the shelf leds and connecting them to ribbon cables that went back to a board with RJ45 connectors for them to plug in to. If it's an RJ45 connector used it would be 8 wires to each s...

Re: RFM rotating saucer mod I made
Cool idea. I can't do it to mine (AFM). Well at least I'd have to come up with some way to connect the saucer leds for the led mod in mine. Some sort of sweeper contacts but there's probably a better way than that to transfer connections to something rotating.
