Re: Bally Star Trek

That's a long way from home, Denis! But an interesting project nonetheless... lots of electricians on that call but I'm too busy here in Ottawa. Safe travels!

Re: Welcome to MAACA! Introduce yourself!

Hi! I'm Colin! I got into the hobby because I had room in my basement and Cait001 had too many machines. Now I own too many of my own. I'm an electrician by trade but my primary day job is teaching- I'm an instructor, and I teach apprentices work site safety, math, as well as electrical and building...

It smells awesome. I liked it so much for my pinball machines that I started using it on my truck.

Re: Elektra Playfield Maintenance

I would assume Novus sparingly for polish and Mother's Calfornia Gold Carnauba Wax. That's what I like and I've had no problems on either my traditional wood playfields, or my tag team which has some sort of plastic/mylar layer right from the factory.

That looks about right. I used a kit from them to patch the giant hole in the bottom of my hot tub before filling in the acrylic side with a colour match.

Re: Anyone in ottawa do fibreglass work?

Noooope but you won't have leftovers. Usually it's a few bucks for a couple of squeeze packets of resin and hardener, popsicle sticks, a solo cup, and some fibreglass fabric that you cut to size. No wastage.

Re: Gottlieb Arena Manual

Hi I'm new to the site, I just purchased my first pinball machine and so excited! Looking for a manual for Arena if anyone is able to help out. I'm also looking for a ramp if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'm looking around the web and haven't had luck yet if anyone has any suggestion...

This is within your capability. You can get a small kit with everything you need from the Chandlery; it's in Britannia.

Re: Super-bands and Feelings

Are there differences between different band sources? Marco vs Titan, etc? Which are polyurethane, silicone, etc? I like them too because they look nicer and they're easier to maintain, but they do have an effect on gameplay: I have had new ones from Marco that are so grippy that a ball rolling down...

I didn't really enjoy Connecticut all that much but the place where the cheeseburger was invented was swell and so was the arcade whose staff directed me to it!

I have one of these and I can't recommend it highly enough. It's not top notch but for the price it does a very fine job. https://www.amazon.ca/Aoyue-Function-So ... B009Q5ZH58

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

Replaced the 5101 RAM and battery in my Centaur and Tag Team with NVRAM from Pinitech. Don't know why I didn't do it a long time ago. Inexpensive mod and light years more reliable.
