Re: The Montreal Pinball Arcade - 1st Open house this Friday!

Making your way in the world today Takes everything you've got Taking a break from all your worries Sure would help a lot Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you came You want to be where you can see Our troubles are all the...

Re: Xenon Playfield Swap

Repopulation is coming along nicely. I was going to do the buss wire today but decided to place bulky mechs instead so I can route it better. I know I’ve complained about it before (as has everyone who has done a playfield swap) but CPR really seem to have something about getting the screw divots in...

Re: TSPP , LOTR .... or Tuition .... ?

I have a good arrangement with my neighbours. I can’t see what happens on their side of the chain-link fence, and they can’t see what happens on mine.

Polaroid 600 series cameras also have the same flash tube, and they're pretty easy to find at your local value village or on eBay: https://www.pinballinfo.com/community/t ... ial.43125/

Will you be replacing the ground braid Colin?
Cabinet ground braid is solid, but the playfield buss wire will definitely be replaced. I never remove the old ones- I use them as a template when tacking down new buss.

Content warning: nudity/gore It took two evenings, but I liberated the harness from the playfield. This is what’s left behind. Harness has been for a spin in the dishwasher and will now hang to dry for a few days. 2694ADF0-0C69-4635-884B-7C0AA4E13677.jpeg 0FDD719C-BD82-4B99-AECC-EEDD92CE1B7B.jpeg Ig...

3/32" seems to work pretty well. I use a wire bending jig from Lee Valley tools, but the pinball suppliers all seem to sell the same one.

Is there a HUB model number on it anywhere? Is it plasma? I don't need it for a game but maybe I could turn it into a clock or something.

Alright, you've got more work to do than I thought. I have a bunch of red jewel posts, but I think SBM is finned. plastics is a no go, I have some rods and rings, wire guides I just manufacture from stainless welding wire from princess auto. Most of this is available new/repro fairly inexpensively; ...

Stopped by the pub to pick up some parts to rebuild some badly worn thumper bumpers.

Really blessed to have an emergency parts department at Pinball Medics!

Re: Broker recommendations?

I used clearit.ca last time I had a large importation. You fill in all the details online, submit it for their agent to verify, and you provide the details to your vendor. Super easy, and they charge a $35 flat fee for most small importations, although mine was $50 + 5% of duty. It wasn't a pinball ...

I have some breakers around here that work great when soldered to a burnt fuse casing. Super useful when troubleshooting something like this. Let me know if you want and I’ll find a way to get them to you.

AMP Commercial Mate-N-Lok series connectors, properly crimped and installed, are going to outlast just about every other part of these machines. It would be absolutely silly to worry about a genuine Mate-n-lok connector that might be cycled 5 times in thirty years when literally every other part of ...

Connectors definitely help the process along. Super useful when I’ve got to take any mech off a field. In the case of a swap, it allows me to run my harness through the dishwasher without all of the extra weight hanging off of it.

Re: Xenon Playfield Swap

another one bites the dust. This one was a pain in the ass. I was prying off an e-clip last night and it flew across the room. Rather than look around for it I figured I’d just find the part in the book and buy a standard kit. Bally parts catalog says P-6316-4. Marco says that’s a 3/16” e-clip. I go...
