Re: Montreal pinball Tech wanted!

Is this a brand new pinball you bought at Player One? Maybe Michel can think of a solution.
Alouette has a repair service, but they are closed for another 3 weeks.
You can try Mira Amusement, maybe they have a repair service too.

What's wrong with Montreal Pinball or Pinball Medics?
These are the local experts doing this commercially.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

I decided to shake things up a bit and start changing out the gameroom layout. I will move the 3 Final Laps and put them in an L-formation in a corner. As much as I like having them in a line, that 30-foot wall looks better with all pins lined up. Hell of an undertaking, but why not. Looks like a g...

Re: What do you see in the future of pinball! (Time capsule thread)

Aside from all that? I'm thinking big... 14 BALL MULTIBALL Multimorphic has the infinity trough. I'm guessing more than a hundred balls in the tray, though no games have come even close to that yet. Heist has the record with a 15 ball multiball for the final wizard mode. This is where I saw it for ...

Re: Help with Soldering…

Looks like you are pretty good at soldering. You could try removing the switches from the bracket do the soldering and put back the whole assembly afterwards.

Re: Help with Soldering…

Might be obvious but it will be easier if you attach the wire to the lug by going through the hole and bend the wire to make a tight V. This way you will not have to hold the wire, leaving one hand for the iron and the other for the solder. Solder on the side the wire is going in. Make sure there is...

Re: Help with Soldering…

Using a good iron made all the difference in the world for me. What soldering iron are you using? At the very least, you need the right wattage and an appropriate tip. Those pointy conic tips on cheap soldering irons are really hard to use. Something that beginners often forget is to put a little bi...

Re: Gottlieb Victory

What I wanted to see was whether the guide rail was touching the post and therefore had no leeway. There is no contact so you can adjust the tip of the guide rail as you want. I would normally suggest to move the tip of the departure rail towards the right to make the trajectory higher but that alre...

Re: Gottlieb Victory

Spinners can be very finicky. You need to make sure the small vertical part of the wire does not rub on the mounting metal bracket around the holes. Make sure the wire does not move sideways during game play. There are sometimes little plastic rings on the wire to let you adjust for this. The linkag...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utility_frequency Because the Niagara project was so influential on electric power systems design, 25 Hz prevailed as the North American standard for low-frequency AC. 25 Hz power was used in Ontario, Quebec, the northern United States, and for railway electrification. ...

The tip of the prop rod is supposed to rest in a depression in the underside of the playfield or in a metal bracket with a slit just for this.

We don't know your location. You can add it in your profile.

Here is a thread listing places where you can buy parts in Canada.

Re: Gottlieb Victory

Maybe those flipper buttons suffered vandalism in the past. Personally, I would replace them because they lost their original shape. It's very easy to do with no soldering required. Look for the hex nut on the inside of the cabinet.

More tools! Setting the t-nuts will wait until my molly bolt tool arrives. There are too many of these t-nuts near inserts and I don't think hammering the clear-coated playfield would benefit it in any way. Can you show how that works? The only way I knew to install a t-nut was to hammer on a ratch...
