Re: MPL vendredi 27 mars(darkdog)

Good trick. I had some success in a similar situation using the iphone tool to push out the SIM tray.

Not sure how reliable that claim is. Star Wars Home Edition has an LCD and this Heavy Metal pin has a DMD.

Oooh, that tickled some youth memories... I thought it was based on the cartoon movie for a minute, but apparently it's based on the magazine instead.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

Today I fixed the random firing of the smart missile on my Last Action Hero. This problem plagued the machine since day one but I decided to do something about it only 3 months ago. At first I thought the switch was bouncy because this tended to occur at the start of multiball when the shaker is str...

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

Can’t fix it without removing the whole head assembly. Removing Ted's head is a pain because you have to remove the ramps behind it. I managed to fix the eye lid coil without removing Ted's head but it took longer than doing it the right way. It might be possible to fix the eye coils without removi...

Re: Indiana Jones (Williams) - Pinsound issues

To fix a fuse problem you need to find the short somewhere. This can be trivial or super hard to find depending on where the short is. If you want to try this yourself, you need an ample supply of fuses to make experiments. I found this solution to avoid blowing a ton of fuses while searching for a...

So how does this bigger magnet work? Is the core active and the outer ring inert like stainless steel?

Thank you for the diagnosis, unfortunately I'm not a techie so that's like German to me... ;) If you know someone who can help ($$), let me know. I'll be swinging by Allouette tomorrow for something else, maybe I can ask them as well. Thanks again! I believe Alouette has a repair service. Talk with...

Re: Indiana Jones (Williams) - Pinsound issues

The first error looks like a connection problem at the connectors.
The second error is telling you that switch did not change state in the last couple dozen games. It is likely the switch is stuck, or no longer works because a cable is broken.

Re: Where can I buy a spring for my Metallica flipper? (locally)

Player One on Begin street in St-Laurent. You have to pay first and the order comes from Toronto. They carry parts for modern Sterns.
Alouette on Delmeade street in Mont-Royal for all your parts needs. R.A.B. now works there.

I bought a Hakko 808 over 5 years ago and it's still awesome. But I'm pretty sure there's a newer version though. Tonnes of positive feedback: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/group-buy-on-the-hakko-808-desolder-gun-kit/page/5#post-716027 It appears the 808 was replaced by the FR-300 which w...

I went there Thursday evening. The parking was overflowing because the cafe next door was full with a young crowd. The arcade was not busy, but there were still more patrons than I expected. Most pinballs are 75c a play or $2 for 3 plays. The other pinballs did not have a price card so I could not t...

Ok, Pinball is a class B category which looks like $340 per year per machine plus $243 annual licence for the establishment.
