There is a pinball table at Alouette right now. The casing is varnished natural wood with an EM playfield and glass on top. It looks nice.

Re: Gaming PC, what should I buy ?

A 250,000$ pc !! :-) The company I worked for in 1993 bought that same computer with extra graphics pipelines for $1M. They over promised on the graphics specs and when the in-house graphics generator project failed that was the only computer capable of delivering what the customer had bought. Ouch.

I remember putting coins in these two machines when I was very young and all machines were still EM.

I agree, the CNE is totally unknown here. If you are in Toronto in the summer, the CNE is impossible to miss.

Re: Why are motors so rare in pinballs?

I assume a motor is more complex to drive and they cannot be use for fast action I don't see the issue with fast action. Sure motors suck for flippers, but you can get pretty cool effects with motors elsewhere. Maybe someone with more electronic background can tell us how difficult it is to drive a...

Ha ha, but that would still be at most one per game.
I guess the magic squares in a bingo machines are motors, so that would be the machine with the most motors I can think of.

Why are motors so rare in pinballs?

I have 5 machines with over 100 coils in them but only 3 motors total.
Granted, I don't expect a motor to drive a slingshot,
but even if the coils remain the majority, why don't we see more motors with cool effects?

I also recommend changing to LEDs. If the LEDs are flickering, you can solder a 470 ohm 1/4 watt resistor across the sockets or install a new lamp driver board. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/need-a-little-help-understanding-led-bulbs-mine-are-flickering Chu pas certain mais d'apres moi y ...

I thought people used triple thick to protect backglasses but only on heavily damaged backglasses to avoid more flaking. If the backglasses are near mint, I would not touch them. Re: Modern pinball paradigms

These mentions are great. Exactly my point. These paradigms become obvious to me only after someone points it out. I'm sure the flipper or drop target was an obvious game changer when first seen. You cannot say that about the outlane back kicker. Concentrating on more recent paradigms, what do you t...

Re: FS: Adams family bally 1992 pinball machine

If the machine is in Chicago, I would assume this was $6000USD.
This falls right in the middle of the price estimate on pinside.
If I'm right, you then add the money conversion and duty tax and you end up near the price you would expect.
I would recommend local pickup though.
