Re: Black Knight issues

You can test the coil resistance to make sure it is bad before changing it.
You should test the replacement coil resistance too before installing it.

Re: Black Knight issues

Any suggestions on where to purchase the connector. The wires look like they simply push into the block Just to be clear, you wouldn't buy a new IDC connector. If you need to replace an IDC connector, might as well replace it with something else more reliable. The manufacturers used IDC connectors ...

Re: Black Knight issues

The memory protect switch is open when the coin door is open and it is pushed closed when the door is closed. The idea is to make it safer by cutting off higher voltage to the coils when the coin door is open. Some operators disliked that feature so much they simply removed the switch. If the switch...

Re: Black Knight issues

Did you measure the voltage at the coil lugs?
Does your machine have a memory protect switch at the coin door that turns off power to the coils when the door is open? Maybe that switch is malfunctioning.

How did you test your fuses? You need to take at least one side out and use a multimeter to check continuity. Visual inspection is not reliable enough.

Not sure how reliable that claim is. Star Wars Home Edition has an LCD and this Heavy Metal pin has a DMD.

Can’t fix it without removing the whole head assembly. Removing Ted's head is a pain because you have to remove the ramps behind it. I managed to fix the eye lid coil without removing Ted's head but it took longer than doing it the right way. It might be possible to fix the eye coils without removi...

Re: Indiana Jones (Williams) - Pinsound issues

To fix a fuse problem you need to find the short somewhere. This can be trivial or super hard to find depending on where the short is. If you want to try this yourself, you need an ample supply of fuses to make experiments. I found this solution to avoid blowing a ton of fuses while searching for a...
