Re: THE MAACA DAILY NEWS! Your daily read about YOU,the members!

I got asked to present at Pinball Expo 40 and I've finally solidified that and booked my flight and hotel. Spending over $1k to go give a presentation on pinball ancestry is totally on brand for this absurd and delightful hobby! :) I'm getting super hyped to experience Expo for the first time, and ...

Did the speech ever work since you have the game?

If not, start here maybe:

I do not have the Arena game manual, however the 1986 Gold Wings manual (another System 80B game)
indicates the following for the MPU switch 6:

Les connecteurs sont souvent la source des problèmes dans les machines à boules de cette génération.

If you have a bit of time, you really should visit Seven's Pinballorama in Cornwall, just steps from Charlottetown, worth a visit!

Re: Besoin aide/Xenon afficheur

Re: Besoin aide/Xenon afficheur

Re: Besoin aide/Xenon afficheur

Re: Pinball Repair - Stittsville area

Got the machine working for now at their place tonight however there are a few more connectors that need repinning, especially the usual J3 on the Solenoid Driver board - I would gladly do that later when we can match our busy schedules. Thanks

Agreed with mrmikeman. These seem to look like small split posts - each made in two-halves,
where the transparent ball guide plastic should be sandwiched in the middle instead of on top?

Re: Is there a replacement for Gottlieb A16 boards ?

To answer your question, yes - same value, same tolerance, same power dissipation (or use a 10W slightly larger, with same other specs). Check if the replacement resistor is 'flameproof'. I often order from Digikey.ca If they do not have it, Sayal in Toronto or eBay would be good possible alternate ...

Well done Cjs001, Bravo! I think I have all six sounds on the Star Battle now - the Tone A & B potentiometers needed to be adjusted. Need more time to test and confirm. The confirmed tones produced by this Coffee-Mat Star Battle are: 1- Credit (coin switch) 2- Tilt 3- Free Ball (Extra ball award...

Coffee-Mat Star Battle Pinball Repairs

While always busy at work and at home with limited spare time available, managed to progress on this interesting and rare circa 1978? or so early solid-state Coffee-Mat Star Battle cocktail pinball machine that someone brought me to repair a few weeks ago. Not much info on the web on this one. DSCF0...

Re: Gottlieb’s - Pro Football review

Jeff, Looking at the videos, it appears that: - the G relay stays activated correctly for the full expected time, perfect. - But the BB relay drops after 3 or 4 pulses around when H gets activated. Still most probably score motor contacts. Check score motor 2C contacts first. Could you please post a...

Re: Gottlieb’s - Pro Football review

The issue is most probably on the score motor if you already have tightened the relays' contacts stacks and cleaned & adjusted/gapped their contacts (relays BB, G, and H delay relay). Chances are that either score motor 1A contact is dirty or not gapped properly, or if BB & G relays drop bef...

Re: Gottlieb’s - Pro Football review

Looking at the schematics, the G and BB relays and their contacts need to close and stay closed for 1/3 score motor rotation, e.g. for the 5 impulses of score motor 1A to make it to the 1000 pts relay coil for a touchdown (I assume another contact adds the other pulse for 6 points total). From my ex...
