Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

Thanks, awesome that it lives up to the hype. It does.. But when you look at the 10k USD price for Beetlejuice and then compare to a Harry Potter Arcade Edition at the same price, the choice isn't that clear. JJP has a higher quality build than spooky and it's not even close. I think BJ loses that ...

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

Shit load of fun. Obviously early code but pretty decent considering. Spooky speak is gimmicky but fun. I disapprove of the excessive use of cheap servos but maybe they’ll be ok. I mean you can’t have your cake and eat it too. To get a game this packed they had to go with compact inexpensive motors… ...

Re: Stern Spike 2 lifetime total plays, watchout

Anyone that uses play counts as a basis for wear and value is not very smart anyway. Play counts can be easily tampered with even on a Stern Spike 2 or 3. There are many ways but for example if you swap CPUs the play count will not be accurate either. The funniest is when you see some noob come on a ...

Re: American Pinball announce new partnership with Planetary Pinball

Either way it doesn't really make business sense to remake a game that sells well below the NIB price. This is why the crazy expensive ones were done like MM, AFM, CC, and MB. Even FH 2.0 isn't that much of a hit because you can get the real original game for much less. I'll be curious to see what ...

Re: Pinball must-have mods

Thanks for your detailed explanations Mike, makes a lot of sense. It is exactly what I was understanding it is, it's not an 'out of the box' product that you can just put in your game, you have to be ready to put the needed effort in order to make it good. Yep exactly. It's a product that let's ...

Re: Pinball must-have mods

I saw a few gameplay videos with Pinsounds but was not convinced? It's like you have to do it all yourself or rely on someone that did it properly, unless I do not understand how it works? Or are you mostly just enhancing the quality of the original stuff with it ? For me, 80% of the enjoyment of ...

Re: Pinball must-have mods

For me the mods that are non-negotiable: - Shaker - Art Blades - Upgraded speakers (Stern or older DMD era) - Subwoofer connection (Pinnovators) - Non-reflective glass - don't care about brand - Topper - I have the ceiling space and all my games have them so one without would look odd - Pinsound ...

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

Fixed a broken wire on HP and installed a cliffy style protector that JJP had sent me for the under flipper hole. Continued tweaking my streaming rig and then streamed twice (HP). Installed precision flippers on Metallica.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?

Continued working on a streaming/recording rig. Almost ready. Tried a “test game” last night that went on for 50 mins lol. New GC score on HP in the process. Still need to sort out the sound input. I was trying to record only game sound and not the microphone, which is why I don’t say a damn word for ...

Most likely JAWS. Maybe SD but we really like it more than JAWS. May sell 1-2 P3 modules as well. Just the ones I don't use/play.

Re: JJP Harry Potter oipinions

I own it. Had it since July. We play it every day. It’s our favourite game of the lineup. Game is FAST. Like OMFG fast. Lol I just asked my wife for help trying to describe why we like it so much. She could only come up with: “It’s FUN”. It’s an endorphin inducing game. It’s a bit chaotic but when yo ...

Re: FS: Various P3 modules

Reviving an old post. I've updated the list of modules I'm considering selling. I can only store 6 modules plus the one in the game. I am now up to 8 total since I got Portal so one has to go. The 2 modules listed play add-on games that are pretty damn good. CL plays the base game of course but also ...

Re: The Walking Dead Remastered Teaser Trailer

And once again, despite saying the wouldn’t re-run LEs, Stern releases another round of LEs, devaluating the previous run. That’s what having bean counters running the business does. They are killing their own market with short sighted cash grabs. It did work for MetR though so what do I know…

That’s one way of looking at it. Makes sense.

I’ll be selling JAWS to make room(had it since early March 2024). And probably 1-2 P3 modules. The ones I pretty much never play.

Re: Spooky Beetlejuice Pinball Official Teaser Trailer

It’s insanity. However I am part of the problem. Uggggh.

Once again though this is a theme that just resonates with us(I’m lucky enough to have a pinball loving wife), just like Labyrinth, JAWS, and Harry Potter did. We had decided to get Beetlejuice based on theme alone.

Can't go wrong with GZ :D

Seems like a pinhead fave. Not familiar enough with KK to have an opinion.

JAWS is pretty approachable too. Shots are not too difficult. Depends if the theme fits.
