I bought a ribbon cable making kit on amazon many years ago. After a few cables it paid for itself. If you only make 1 or 2 then maybe not really cost effective.

It's rather rare that someone will be willing to "trade down" drastically. Probably quicker and easier for you if you sell the Monte Carlo and then just buy the game you want.
