Re: Going to USA to buy a pinball and going back to Canada? What to expect?

I don't think item 1. is totally correct. By law I believe the shipping costs are part of the all in cost and you can be taxed on those (same thing with postage costs being included on things mailed to you and later taxed). I believe this would only apply if you were to ship to a depot close to the...

Re: Going to USA to buy a pinball and going back to Canada? What to expect?

1) have a receipt (mandatory) do not add the price you paid for shipping to the total only the price of the pinball. You don't get taxed on shipping fees. 2) pay the provinces' taxes rate 3) drive home and enjoy your pinball I don't think item 1. is totally correct. By law I believe the shipping co...

Re: Rockola World Series

They have (or had) one of the 1937 World series at the amusement museum in San Fran .... it is absolutely beautiful and having watched a few videos on it an engineering marvel. Game wise it was fun I think I played about a half dozen games on it and would happily have one in the collection (if not f...

Re: Price check on a Gottlieb Airport?

Fairly typical for a late 60's Gottlieb .. fun factor doesn't seem to be there but under 400 if in good shape it's probably a buy in this market.

Re: Possible revenue generating idea for House Of Targ?

Now the repair idea is a definite winner and one that you could easily charge decent dough for .. lots of people with basic skills in repair that want to learn more (as well as total newbs that you are right need info to lift the playfield) ... there was a clinic run by a member on Maaca about 4 yea...

Yes there is validity to that to an extent although it has been very popular in pacific asia (mostly Korea No one thought tablets would take off either Squid. :) Nowadays, it seems like if there isn't a market for something you just create a market. Yes there is validity to that to an extent although it has been very popular in pacific asia (mostly Korea and Japan) for over a decade ... the actually $$$ have never been significant in North America. So in that it's had more than 10 years to 'come over' I don't know that it will ever be anywhere ...

Re: Possible revenue generating idea for House Of Targ?

I think it's a nice idea but I can't see there being any real audience for it ... an alternative might be for HOT during a slow period to hold an ask the expert(s) type event where one or more of the local players could be in attendance to provide pointers and such ... HOT gains by newbs (or more ad...

Not a great playing game .. it's been at EXPO a couple of times ... it is cool that a small Australian company got to make the title (and I'd love a chance to play some of the other Hankin titles) but if you are lookign for game play ... you won't find it here.
