Re: Northstar Pinball bar (Montreal)

It is not a question of being good, it is not possible to even win a free game or make a skill shot for extra ball. The pinball machines at Northstar no longer provide the opportunity to win an extra ball or the chance to win a free game. Adam (one of the owners) explained that Northstar needs a per...

Northstar Pinball bar (Montreal), no free games

I went to Northstar last night for the first time this year. Very disappointed!!! The new machines no longer give free games or extra balls. These features are an important aspect of pinball and are part of what makes it exciting. Come on guys wake up!!! Without these features, it makes pinball play...

Gottlieb Sunshine - 1958 Woodrail

Hello,

Happy holdiays!

I have a nice Gottlieb Sunshine, woodrail for sale. Nice playfield / cabinet. Only issue is backglass, 6/10.

Recently shopped, waxed, with bulbs and rubbers replaced. Missing a bell (which is on order).

Works well!

Re: Gottlieb Countdown - Part 2

The Mpu is new. It is a replacement board (modernized) that was working fine in the other countdown.

Perhaps the wire from the door to the MPU is no good

Thanks for the advice.

Gottlieb Countdown - Part 2

Hello, I replaced all the boards (power supply, CPU, and driver board) along with the cables form a working Count-down. The machine boots and everything seems to light up as it should. However, none of the buttons on the coin door work. I cannot start a game, add credits or even go into maintenance ...

Re: Gottlieb Count-Down

I fiddled with the slam switch and the machine seems to boot. However, I cannot start a game (reminder that the battery is dead). I get the following on the displays (rotates between 00000 and this): 20191201_111031.jpg Does anyone know what this means? Number of credits is blank (although I did get...

Gottlieb Count-Down

Hello, I am trying to bring a Gottlieb Count-down back to life. It has been sitting (without being turned on) for about 10 years. Obviously the battery is dead. The boards do look clean. No apparent battery acid damage. I cleaned all the board contacts, made all the connections (and grounds), plugge...

Re: Gottlieb System 1 Sound board

Thank you everyone for the advice. Just as an FYI, my sound board can handle sounds in rapid succession (or triggers). The card I am using can handle 16 different sounds, which can be triggered by a 3v or 5v pulse (DC) or by closing of the loop (e.g. the two pins for sound #1 need to touch). On the ...

Gottlieb System 1 Sound board

Hello, Can someone assist me in getting a better understanding of a Gottlieb system 1 sound board? Below is the schematic. Hulk-Sound2.gif On my machine (Incredible Hulk) there are 12 pin connectors on the sound board. Pin # 1 & #2 are not used and neither is pin #12. I would like to try understand ...

Bally Eightball Playfield colours

Hello, A few years back I made a digital version of a bally eight ball playfield. I was looking at it and I think that I might be off on some of the colors. I have most lettering as white and beige. I no longer have a point of reference and I think the white / beige lettering in my file should be ei...

Re: Overlay file for Bally EightBall playfield

Hi Stephane, The person to contact is Michael 514-651-9822. He lives in Chateauguy. He also buys eightball machines, so if you think your restoration project is too much work, you might be able to get a good price and get another machine. Do you have a pic of your playfield and what it looks like? W...
