Re: Whacked Out Gameroom Addition

Unfortunately capitalism took hold in the former Soviet Union and they want good money for these things. They were still producing tubes long after everyone else went solid state and you couldn't give tubes away unless they were select ones for high end audio.

You have a design? I've looked at making one of those but the nice big IN-18 tubes I'd want to use are pricey.

I was more inclined to build one of these.

Re: Whacked Out Gameroom Addition

thats awesome, its like a winamp visualizer but in real life!!! how much did it cost when u were done? All in I'm going to say $200. I don't know the exact amounts off the top but the Perspex blocks were the most costly part of it. I paid around a hundred for 26 3" x 5" x 3/4" blocks. The leds were...

Re: Whacked Out Gameroom Addition

Maybe it wasn't strong enough or he was threatened with licensing issues. As far as I understand it nothing stops someone from reverse engineering a failed part and reproducing the failed part for themselves as long as no profit is involved in the process. The part failed. It either failed mechanica...

Re: Whacked Out Gameroom Addition

If anyone can think of something that's a universally sought after unobtainium plastic pinball related part that would stand up 3d printed I would be willing to take a stab at designing it for the community. It seems pinball part designs are pretty limited for what's out there from my research. It c...

Whacked Out Gameroom Addition

Undeniably if your into pins and vids you like flashy things. Contrary to popular opinion I haven't been totally asleep at the wheel. For one of my projects I decided I wanted to amp up the volume on the gameroom flash and use some of my largely useless acquired hobby tech knowledge to build somethi...

That's poolman's gig. Either that or they preserved him in three layers of his high quality clear coat and are parading him around like Weekend at Bernie's.

Re: The poolman is not dead

Thanks Duane. Things are going well. Never lost interest in the hobby just shifted to other interests for awhile. Pinball put me on a schedule I couldn't keep up to with work. I got back into motorcycles since I could set my on schedule with that; no not Harley's or anything like that. Few newer and...

I can't tell :FP:   Right from day one if just about anything was a concern; and I mean anything it didn't even have to be relevant, standard practice was to just PM Sparky and...

Sorry for necroposting an old thread but I guess it goes with the nick. A little time off had me doing my nerdy hobby researching stuff which serendipitously brought me back around to reading up on Pin2DMD. Apparently pinball enthusiast like flashy lights and if you look into them enough you'll ulti...

Long shot : Saint-Roch-de-l'Achigan to closer to Toronto

Anyone from that area able to pick up a medium sized motorbike for a fee and bring it closer to Toronto? Tank should be as dry as bone cause it hasn't run since Humpty Dumpty was routed. I know it's a long shot and way less interesting than a pinball machine but I thought it worth throwing out there...

Rare as turkey's teeth. IMHO a game that gets deserving collector recognition for being one of the few Williams from that golden era and now available in very short supply. Very nice!

What paperwork? I have a pretty much unmolested 222. It might still be in there. Saving that most of the Seeburg ol'timer repair guys that might have what you're after are on this group. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/see ... nclub/info

Nice. I have an F14 pf I've been hanging onto looking at the same thing. Insert replacement and CC'ing. If I only held onto one of the F14's I had to put it in... Hoping I'll come across one with a trashed pf priced accordingly,

Re: Surface prep before Clear Coating playfield, your opinion...

If you can't read and follow directions this shit's not for you. Then again there's something to be said for natural selection. $25 well worth every penny IMHO given the investment in time and effort to prep for a CC job not to mention the value of machines. FWIW a proper cartridge mask for isocyana...

Re: Surface prep before Clear Coating playfield, your opinion...

While we are on the topic of clearcoat I've had some great results with a 2K clear in a can. This to my knowledge is the only high solids two part clearcoat that comes in a spray can. It has an activator on the bottom to mix the two parts and sprays in a nice fan pattern. Very resistive to chemical...
