Re: Congo

If you can snag a Congo in the $1,200 range you are doing well. In the $1,600 range you will have more trouble selling it down the line as there are too many other pins in that price range. That's my .02.

Thanks Mark and Jonny_eh!

Big thanks to Mark and Jonny_eh for the Hot Shots sitting in my garage! Mark sold me the game for a very fair price -- I didn't haggle on his asking price -- and brought it to Starburst. Next Jonny picked it up and brought it to Ottawa. I understand there were also some helping hands at Starburst --...

Re: Nascar and Dale Jr - comments

Fun games and can be found for a decent price. Worth considering if you like the theme. I enjoyed it when ME had one. She got tired of the game and sold it.

Personally I like the look of Nascar over the Dale Jr., but would consider either if the price was right and I had space.

Re: News on the Canasta 86 pin

After speaking with the manager at SB, she said that they are looking at this very pin to offer it to their customers. I like this idea and it can only help a business when they have options and not just a single provider. Suuuuurrreee....like offering a Lada for the same price as a Toyota. I reall...

Re: Need shipping from Toronto to Ottawa this weekend

I'm bumping this as I am now in the same boat as Jon. I need to get a game from Toronto to Ottawa. The game can be brought to the Starburst auction. Anyone going willing to bring something back? Of course, cash provided.

Re: So, I found my girlfriends limits

Buy the slot machine and get a new GF IMO Glad you said it. I started to type something yesterday and deleted it. If there are other factors involved: space, money, etc. I can understand that. Even in those scenarios there should be discussion. Marriage is about mutual respect and understanding. If...

Nice work! I think the blue text works great for MAACA.ORG, but agree white text would look better for MONTREAL ARCADE + AMUSEMENT.....

And the ratio is about right. There are easily 5 pinball collectors in the group for every two vid collectors :poke Joking...

Re: Need shipping from Toronto to Ottawa this weekend

Congrats on the Pharaoh :-)

If you decide to rent a van, I might need a game brought back and would chip in. I'm currently in discussion with my brother in law to see if he can bring it. Afraid he won't be able to bring another game, though.

Re: News on the Canasta 86 pin

Let me ask you this, would you buy it for $4k Canadian? Prices of pins will only go up, salaries and components can't always stay low even if you get them made in China. take care Nope the LCD display doesn't matter to me, I like the DMD. The game looks as basic as an EM, so LCD display or not it's...

Re: Stern NIB Best bang for the buck?

Damn... I always thought NIB meant New In Basement... shows what I know. LOL I did see a NIB RBION go for 2900$ recently. So my vote stays. Starburst's 3000$ WOF deal a ways back was also a NIB great deal. Pin is fun as well. Good luck getting those deals now. I don't think you will see a NIB Stern...

Re: News on the Canasta 86 pin

At $5K, they won't be in the market place for long. It looked really, really basic. Doesn't hold a candle to a new Stern. Perhaps their pricing will demonstrate to folks that it costs alot to make a pinball and Stern isn't just blowing smoke when they say they need to reduce costs.

Re: Stern NIB Best bang for the buck?

Yes NIB IM over Batman. If it's SM vs IM I enjoy both, and you cannot go wrong with any of these two. Seems that Batman is not a favorite amongst us.... Medvet has spoken up yet. She LOVES her BDK. She both both a BDK and IM at around the same time. She can write why she loves Batman. For me, the g...

Re: Stern NIB Best bang for the buck?

Has it been released yet? I haven't seen anything written on the actual game play. I suggested SM as there is no way Avatar is going to beat it in terms of gameplay. It's just not possible with the new approach being followed by Stern: less toys and less depth. That said, I really, really dig IM, so...

If you can still get SM new and you are sold on getting new, that's the one I would recommend. Awesome game and timeless theme.
