Partially Populated Playfields (PPP)-Back on the block

Post by R.A.B. »

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PLEASE SEE POST WAY BELOW - THIS ONE IS FROM MARCH 13, JUST BEFORE THE IDES OF MARCH.

I tried posting this before, but the responses were too much for me to handle at once (I only work here three days a week -i.e. at Alouette) so I took the post down.

You know how it is, sometimes you get too many questions about a useless item (to you) which you posted on Kijiji and you end up wondering why you bothered after you see what a time suck it is to answer questions for 100 bucks.

So here you go, this is how we are going to do this.

1) Post your questions on this thread and I will answer as best as I can so everyone with the same question can get an answer as well. This will be fun. FAWQ (frequently asked weird questions)

2) Prices start at 100 bones for the worse playfield of the bunch (probably Bad Cata - I know there is a typo on the list) and go no higher than 250 for the ones with flippers, if any. :FP:

3) we will not ship these, and it is cash and carry with the least possible questions when you pick up. Hell, you get lots of parts for your money and this will likely leave me jobless (not)

There are over 40 playfields for sale and I will try to post pics if asked nicely regarding the ones I have access to easily.

Sure Mike.

The playfield is missing the elevator thing, and missing coils from the underside, and coil brackets are bent out of shape, no wire harness. See pics.

It does sort of have flippers and an apron, the playfield is dirty and will clean up nice, no real wear. And you get that little water level near the ball shooter at no extra charge, it ainèt busted on this one. :D

Sounds good. I'll take it. I will keep the parts as spares for my soon to arrive DW and the playfield can go up as wall art.. :)

BTW How suited is Bad Cata (with the typo) for wall art? Hate the game.. But being cat lovers the wall art would be well suited for me and my gf as long as not just a piece of plywood with inserts and no art lol..

OK, the Dr.Who playfield is yours Mike, I will hide it somewhere until you get here, things get sold twice here sometimes.

The Bad Cata playfield looks like it would be good for the bottom of a litter box, or maybe it has already served that purpose. The art is gone for the most part at the center of the playfield, but it does have a lot of parts on it, more than the other playfields. Even has flippers on it.

Always best to see these in person, so I will post easy pics on this thread to give everyone an idea.

There are 6 of these SF2 playfields with lots of parts. The artwork is fine, no Bad Cata wear at all on any. All priced between 150 to 200 depending on the parts on the one the client picks.

You can pick the best one when and if you come to pick up.

Re: Partially Populated Playfields (PPP)-Back on the Block

Kinda like many things in life these days, you never really know what is true and not subject to changing.

37 partially populated playfields are back on the block, these were apparently all sold in one shot before the news came down the pipe that non-essential business were going to be locked down. So the potential buyer got the covid blues and backed out. Just found out last week when I asked Pierre when they would be picked up. Apparently the buyer doesn't see the need for all these playfields anymore. I was kinda relieved, I didn't particularly like the idea of seeing them all go to one reseller, so I am posting these up again for Alouette. And will only answer questions on this thread to avoid repetitive PMs.

We have added one or two (GTB Monte Carlo's and a Big House I think) I will post an up to date list tomorrow from work.

Below is repeated from 1st post above cause people don't seem to read much anymore - PLEASE REREAD and let's get these to the right people - you also get a free 100 pound bag of glucose with every playfield you buy for you gardening habits and needs. :D

You know how it is, sometimes you get too many questions about a useless item (to you) which you posted on Kijiji and you end up wondering why you bothered after you see what a time suck it is to answer the same questions over and over for 100 bucks.

:FP:

Sure thing Bruce, but I can safely say that the 5 Shaq Attack playfields have been equally stripped of the parts that often break on that game.

Will know more tomorrow.

Some are pretty rough indeed, but most have good art under the dirt.

Bad Cata has the most untouched mechanisms, but has almost no art left. It does however have full flipper assemblies and Earthshaker is also 85% complete. All depends on which "tech" messed with the playfields and what they needed and if they forgot their tool box at home that day. Lots of factors, so it is the luck of the draw I guess and bottom of the barrel stuff that is more or less still palatable.

This is not how I would sell these given more time, but this is how left over stuff has been rolling out at Alouette these days. So best to come around and take your pick, not much to lose really. Again, even if you walk out with a big bag of gardening sugar, the visit is worth the time. This is the last place in Montreal as far as old time distributor/operator warehouses are concerned and still left in existence. It will all be gone soon, like many other things as the world changes again, and its replacement will not look, feel or do business this way. The amusement industry is reinventing itself again as so many other places of business associated with it's sustainability end their usefulness/purpose in these times of great change.

Rob,....used parts off of the Shaq, thank you. Do you know if any of the rest have a working shot clock in the top left of the PF?

Bruce - I may know the above by August 3rd.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=26461

As explained in the above link, I am no where near Alouette these days, two week vacation for the staff there & shutdown of the joint. So doing lots of home service under Montreal Pinball for now, hence plying my other trade. Have tool box will travel, and enjoying every minute of it in these weird times.

Please send me a gentle reminder by PM in early August so I can check the other SHAQ playfields that are left. I will only be able to tell you if the assembly is there, I have no way to test it.

Maxed out at 10 machines, no more no less. Toujours a 10 machines, pas moins pas plus.
Une règle suivi gueri de tout. A rule respected can cure anything.

A philosophy of doing shall rule til the days when I can no longer "do" arrive. Because when I am too old to wipe my own ass, adjust an AX relay or relieve a woman from sighing, there will be only memories to fill my time. So, the task at hand is to build a RRSP of memories, come hell or calm tides.

P.S. Some of us need something to do besides contemplate how important everyone has suddenly become in a world of exaggerated self-promotion upheld by the new dumb.
