Looking for a CRT tech.
Looking for a CRT tech.
Hey, I realize this isn't quite the right place since this is more focused around arcade machines and especially pinball but I was hoping someone here might be able to repair some of the CRT monitors I have. I'm not an arcade cab owner myself but I figure someone here is bound to have experience repairing tube displays as they're one of the more important parts of the arcade cab feel. Apologies if this really shouldn't be here, finding people who are able to repair something like this in montreal has been surprisingly difficult. To be clear the problem isn't with the tubes themselves, I'm fairly certain the issues can be solved just by replacing some aging capacitors. EDIT: I'm around the Plateau-Rosemont.

Re: Looking for a CRT tech.
Are you comfortable discharging the monitor and removing the chassis?
There are a couple of very good monitor techs in the GTA. You can send them the chassis for repair/refurb.
Good luck

I should add- The monitors I'm looking to have serviced are two fairly high-end Viewsonics and a broadcast monitor, which might complicate who can repair them. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll call up the guy today.
