Where are you located?

Post by cdnpinballer »

Can we please make it mandatory to add your location when creating a user profile?

It's baffling how many people on this site don't bother to indicate their location.

There may be some people who wish to participate in MAACA forums in a somewhat location-anonymous manner, so that shouldn't be forbidden, but I would argue that posting to any of the marketplace forums should require a profile-location, yes (assuming that can be done)

I agree with the idea, but then we'd end up with a bunch of new members posting using Dildo, Newfoundland or Balls Falls, Ontario.

Some new members, I'm thinking of a member in particuler who has been asking this question many times on the forum, just don't know or don't see that in our signature there is our location, that's why the question has been asked many times lately.
Of course, I asked him his location once because his location was'nt indicated in his signature, and to point out to him that he can look in our signature and he does'nt have to ask every time he's interrested in something, but I think he did'nt "get it" because he started asking again the day after he added his location in his signature. :)

Made me feel bad about not having my location in my profile, lol, so I just added it :D. However, I went with Ottawa-Gatineau, because I get tired of answering questions such as 'is Gatineau far from Ottawa?', or 'where is Gatineau?'..
Already made it to Stage 2, I don't know if I should be looking forward to Stage 3! More information on pinball 'stages'

Can't argue with that, it's been almost 13 years I've been living here, and I still can't get 'Outaouais' myself! :D
