Already packed for the parts table as is is a very popular item at the show. I usually bring 50 and they sell out, will bring more this year.tombiosis wrote:I need a leg bracket for a firepower. The part inside the cab that accepts the bolts.
Price is 3.00 each I believe, maybe less.

So, the task at hand is to build that RRSP of memories in order to joyfully cushion the last stages of life.

I will bring some for sure, but I will sell them just for the folks who can tell me what they actually do.

Re: Matching parts to members (And you know that notion, just crossed my mind)
LINKS_LINKS_LINKS
Memory can be a great tool. And when used properly, it can colour your present like nothing else. That is exactly what happened to me this morning at work as I was sorting out some parts I found. I gradually became linked to another time.
Back in late 2015, at the age of 52 I was called a pinball geek for the very first time in my life. Never had anyone called me that before, ever. I had been in pinball neck deep since the age of 15 but was never called a geek in relation to it. Pinball was just cool whether you were a hardcore player, a tech or someone who moved them around. Most of us played and socialized and frequented the arcades looking for the latest pins that would usually grace the entrance to the amusement halls.
The person who called me a pinball geek in that winter of 2015 had obviously never lived the heyday of the smokey arcades when the machines were new and tight. She was now only poised to live the resurrgence of pinball in public locations for her first time with the North Star opening a few months later in January of 2016. She had likely never played a real machine before.
We were walking to the shop at the time and I was talking about the importance of not neglecting plunger and link wear as a cause for sluggish play. Stressing that a tight link is often overlooked. You lose some of the quick action when bumpers and flippers are soft. That is when she called me a geek, after I made the that statement about soft bumpers and flippers. I started to laugh like a madman at what she called me and I stopped dead in my tracks. She seemed a bit taken aback by my reatcion while eyeing me curiously as I crouched over from laughter. Had I become a geek ? Was trying to make old machines play like they did when they were new a sign of approaching geekhood ? Is being down to the nitty gritty of the details of an experience what defines a geek ? I hope not, that would be sad in a modern sort of way.
"I'll buy that for a dollar !" (Memories not included)
I can only provide those links, and if sorting out N.O.S. plunger links makes me feel good, well maybe I have become a parts geek. Well then, that's OK with me 'cause I sure as shit don't play pinball these days.

Stumbling on Flybacks
One of my buddies is fixing a D9200 Wells-Gardner digital monitor (one of the last CRTs from Wells-Gardner) and asked if Alouette had some flybacks left over for this multi-mode 27" beast. I remember these monitors from when they came out, a sort of hybrid between the old CRT chasis and the new digital processor chasis which could deal with multiple resolutions. It was definitely a different beast and being used in many new video games, especially driving games.
So fast forward to finding a box of flybacks (mostly for Wells-Gardner monitors) at Alouette, didin't find one for the D9200, but did find a bunch of new ones for older models. Even found two brand new flybacks for 19" MONITORS without the Wells Gardner part number structure we have below for the later flybacks. The 2 that are left are N.O.S. and have a component I am not familiar with that is connented to the suction cup going to the tube. I believe these "blocks" were attached to the metal frame of the tube. Maybe someone here can edify this claim from my memory and what they are for.
These older flybacks are 50$ each as opposed to the newer ones listed below which are all priced to sell at 40 bones each.
WGM Part No.
053X0531-001 x 4
053X0589-001 x 1
053X0592-001 x 2 (for 33" mdl)
053X0617-001 x 3
053X0658-001 x 1
053X0632-001 x 4
053X0671-001 x 6 (K7400 & K7500 mdls)
After more digging I found a bunch of pots and other parts that are all Wells-Gardner OEM parts which I now know for sure were from Laniel Automatic's parts dept. which were left over when they closed for good after almost 70 years in business on Feb.22, 2001. So Alouette must have bought all this WGM stuff then.

Re: Matching parts to members (And you know that notion, just crossed my mind)
More shit has come to light in these winter doldrums and within the bowels of 8505 Chemin Delmeade in the Town of Mount Royal.
Yikes !!
Presently moving the parts dept at Alouette from its present location to a new shop and I am finding oddities and more N.O.S. parts as I take shelving down, throw stuff out that I will never sell and continue to empty dusty drawers and bins. (insert Elmore James song "It Hurts me Too") I am not finding much more pinball stuff which I didn't already have knowledge of except for Pinball 2000 cabinet flipper buttons and some Stern flipper pawl e.o.s. actuators, and just lots of other amusement industry parts. By the by, the common pinball parts here continue to sell easily & regularly, but that is not what I want to tell you about at this juncture.
What doesn't move as quickly are the video game parts, so a heads up to those with games to fix. Finding N.O.S. optical guns sensor boards, lenses, gun shell torx screw kits. 49 way joysticks, gun hoses, pots, motors, pedals, pushbuttons and steering wheels. Will be posting pics here on MAACA and then on the Montreal Pinball webstore located at https://amusement.evolvo.com/ in the next while as I get more of my gumption back as spring finally kicks it back up into the full throttle life affirming mode which most of us stay alive for, or at base simply thrive for.
Let's just hope that our real & deep passions and what is left of the coin operated amusement business will at best partially recover from the past two years of strife which have affected many of us in ways we have yet to understand, let alone are able to adjust to in light of the consequences stemming from the rapid changes which contributed in generating the instability lurking around us and within ourselves thus affecting our relationships towards others in ways that are not often "agréable". Division and isolation are generally not prone to promote stability in a community, whether locally or worldwide for that matter. Crazy times I tell ya, - you feel it too Jackson ? (I knew you would)

Une règle suivi guéri de tout. A rule respected can cure anything.
A philosophy of doing shall rule until the days when I can no longer "do" arrive. Because when I am too old to adjust an AX relay or relieve a woman friend from sighing, there will only be memories to fill my time. So, the task at hand is to build that RRSP of memories in order to joyfully cushion the last stages of life.
Personally prefer the exceptional qualities lurking beneath any normal state of affairs. Alas, our day to day is being promoted as extraordinary via a world wide web largely fueled by the new dumb & followed closely by the latest breed of unscrupulous scroundrels & judas goats.

Seven of these came up from a dusty bottom shelf at Alouette.
Brand new with keys and no acceptors. Manufacturer by Coin Mechanisms in 1995 and inspected by someone called 12.
Measure very close to 7.25in x 9.50in.
$35.00 each

Re: Matching parts to members (And you know that notion, just crossed my mind)
OK/DAC, let's open the doors to the last old time distributor's warehouse in Montreal that remembers their being an industry before you were born. Let's do it on a springtime Saturday, a good time to do a road trip to Montreal for many who don't inhabit la Ville de Marie and her surroundings.
English wil follow.
D'ACCORD.
Mark it in your calendars - Saturday March 19th, parts flea market at Alouette from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., fill the basket provided with parts and/or supplies for $30 or $40 without exceeding the top of the basket. Large items that don't fit in your basket, well, you have to see Pierre and/or Rab or see the price affixed as a starting point.
We have been moving the parts department over to the Montreal Pinball side of this 16,000 sq.ft building and there's a lot of stuff left that I likely will never use. An official announcement is to follow here, but thought I'd shout out the date before roughly listing the stuff available. No hype, nor social media bullshit will be used to announce this event apart from Maaca in an attempt to reduce the tire kickers and bottom feeders. Maaca members in good standing will be treated accordingly and no asshole behavior will be tolerated from anyone. We reserve the right to kick you out if you act or are identified as being a scoundrel.

Not much time for detailed pictures Cait sorry. No promises but I will be starting a new thread on this crazy parts sale and will try to take more pics, maybe do a walk through video I think would be eaiser, just like the ones I did on Pitt street before moving my world once again in 2015. Ah the memories.

Will do my best Cait, it is just so annoying and time consuming to do real life things on line when you can actually be somewhere else with others discussing shit. Hope you can make it on the 19th.

Thank you for the video! You mentioned you have a list of the videogame headers, any chance you can send me that?
That Bally Safari glass is cool. You don't see a lot of late 60s bingo stuff. If I make it there I'd probably grab that. Are the stepdown transformers? What kind of output? Still unsure if I'll be able to actually make it there

Few more items have come up as being possibly desirable to members and who may want to work with future possibilities. Used legs are 10 bones each, but you will need to sort, I am tired of rust and dirt.

Re: Matching parts to members (And you know that notion, just crossed my mind)
English will follow.
En vidant le 8505 Chemin Delmeade ont ne peut que trouver des bébelles. Voici trois que je pensent pourrait intéresser certain membres. Il peuvent être livrer a Hawksbury durant la première fds de Juin dans les pire des cas.
1) https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/DMD32
By emptying the 8505 Chemin Delmeade we can't help but find trinkets. Here are three that I think may be of interest to some members. They can be delivered to Hawksbury during the first week end of June in the worst of cases, I say that because it is cutting it tight, big move at the end of this month.
1) https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/DMD32
Brand new 128 x 32 dot matrix display - $200 each, there are eight of them in the original box which held 15 is still lying around. I'm saving 3 of these for the future Montreal Pinball parts dept. needless to say that they will be at market price later on.
2) http://www.pbresource.com/signature/gtb-d16951.jpg Lockdownbar for standard size Gottlieb, (part number D-16951) user is $10 each, there are 22, so if you take 4 it's $20, that means $5 each after that
3) Of the 78s and 33-1/3s and some 45s that come out of the jukeboxes of yesteryear, all the big hits from the 50s and 60s, there are about 1000 records.
Here are my favorites - keeping these for sure.

Re: Matching parts to members (And you know that notion, just crossed my mind)
5 of these brand new WGM chasis kits came out of a Wells-Gardner box perched up on another warehouse scaffolding we took down this morning at the Alouette warehouse. We knew they were there, and MrHide had already poked through them and confirmed that they were for some old hi res monitors we had for VLT's used in the Martimes around 1995. He said that he wouldn't know what to do with them, took one complete monitor when we had a bunch of them and left this box of chasis to whomever would take them, to no surprise, no one bellied up to the bar.
But this morning when I saw them up close I thought what a god-damn wasteful world we live in, there are so many things we spend countless hours engineering, testing, designing, building and waste and destroy and throw out and so on so forth. I guess we need to keep busy. My buddy JameSchid is always taken aback by how many things the human race has designed and built in the 20th century and the enormous amount of thought and planning that went into things we no longer need or use. I guess that is why we have museums, need to keep all those thoughts, concepts, ideas and creation somewhere.
Any takers ? price is a shinny copper penny each.
A penny for the thought that went into these.
