Rivet press or rivet punch tool at Ottawa show

Post by Dave W. »

I've been shopping around for a decent rivet tool, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Was wondering if someone would be up for bringing their rivet press or rivet punch tool to the Ottawa show this weekend to help me rivet my ramp flap to a new ramp that I have. I have the rivets and washers.... just need to press them.

Thanks in advance!
Dave

If you have business to attend to at Quartier Dix30, you could drop by my house, I have a rivet press.
I'm located at J4S1E1.

Thanks so much for the offer... that's great!
I'll reach out to you sometime after the Ottawa show and work out a day/time that is convenient for you.
Best,
Dave

I can bring my hand rivet squeezer to the show if you like, let me know.

It's like this: https://www.aircraftspruce.ca/catalog/t ... gIX_fD_BwE

Dr. Nybble, have you ever riveted ramp flaps with that tool ?
I had mixed results with the press, for flaps.
It depends on the distance between the hole and the ramp wall.

Thanks guys!
Dr.Nybble, I'll bring the parts to the Ottawa show.
Lowrent, thanks for the offer as well. If for whatever reason I can't get it done in Ottawa, I hope you're still OK with me reaching out to you sometime after.

No problem, try with the hand tool first and i'll be glad to help if it doesn't clear the ramp walls.

Success was reported with the hand squeezer!

The dies that came with mine were for solid rivets I had to buy ones for semi-tubular somewhere else.
