SpecialPinball - "Wizard Blocks" project
Hello guys!
First a "happy new year" to all member of the Maaca forum!
Today i start to continue my story about my WB project and also in short time about the work at the MM project. More than a half year there was no time to spent for the pinball projects - because i worked with other projects like my model cars which need a complete new homepage and much more. But now it´s time to go forward......
Many parts are waiting since a long time that they can be fixed into the cabinet & playfield. Also i found a better and wide ground cable; the old and small ground cable can now be removed. Some new parts are fixed into the cabinet with the new ground cable.

I wondered what was going on with this. Even my wife raised an eye when I showed her your MM cab, and she hates all things pinball.

Re: "Wizard Blocks Widebody" continuation......
MUCH THANKS for your nice feedbacks! I like and enjoy your forum and members here and it´s great for myself to be here......
Now it´s time enough for my work that it will continue..... there is only something i miss that it would go easier & faster
pic 1:there is fixed a complete new ball trunk unit with new transmitter and receiver board for six game multiball. I hope that in some weeks all stainless stell parts can be laser cutted - i must wait some weeks because the WB get some very special modifications! There will be changed some designs of the ball scoops; there will be a ball return lane under the playfield to the multiball lifter which will go to the second playfield in the backbox and and and..... (my head is full)
pic 2:now i make some modifications with the backbox - i made a mistake with the size of the display - it was to small. I saw this problem in summer when i constructed the frame for the MM machine, but from mistakes i can learn to make things better. There must be a more bigger frame for the widescreen display - it´s made now and can be fixed into the backbox.

Hi George,
I've been following the pics of your work you've posted here for a while....truly fantastic looking games! Awesome work!
However, I was just curious how you intend to play Wizard Blocks? I didn't think the software/rules/modes was ever completed.

Re: "Wizard Blocks Widebody" continuation......
So let me get this straight. Wizard Blocks was a concept pin from Williams just before they halted production. You are recreating this concept pin from scratch, cabinet, mechs, artwork, rules and gameplay? Basically designing your own pin from a prototype playfield? If so WOW! Very cool. I am a recent member so not familiar with your past work but from what I see so far it looks incredible.
Did you make the pf yourself or did you somehow get the prototype playfield? Is the artwork from the prototype as well or your own?
Brent

Re: "Wizard Blocks Widebody" continuation......
WOW - that´s much feedback. I will reply all questions tomorrow - but first i must make an update about my work.
pic 1: the first placing of the widescreen display - now it´s looking fantastic and all animations will be placed on the playfield at her correct place. Through the widebody size all dimensions are now not at the same place like the original P2K machine.
Now an incredible horror trip begins...... i worked at the blocks three full days.....
pic 2:first i made a stencil of paper to get the correct dimensions for the blocks....... and placed it in the front of the new made console for the backglass.

Re: "Wizard Blocks Widebody" continuation......
From the paper stencil i made a wood plate which is fixed at the front of the console.
pic 1: Around this wood plate i made now the blocks to get a 3D view.Cutting small pieces of plywood which are fixed and glued for first behind the wood plate.......
pic 2: ..... and then in the front and down under the plate to the displays frame. A work which will take no final..... allways looking for the dimensions, cutting and sanding.....! The blocks got complete around a last thin layer of plywood and now ready for sanding the corners and edges.
The blocks will be painted complete in yellow and getting inside insert plastics in differnet colours with letters. Also there will be inside a illumintaion with a lot of LED´s to get different lightning modes. But this will coming later. In next days the backbox get many more new modifications and will be prepared that the PC can go inside.

Re: "Wizard Blocks Widebody" continuation......
Again not much time - reply coming tomorrow.....
There is a company here at my town and they can deliver this special glass in the size i need - but it will be expensive.
Now i make new stones around the door; they are bigger and more realistic. Also there will be a modification at the left and right side from the blocks; it must be closed that there is no light shining onto the glass. More coming soon.....

First the update & then the replies to your questions.....
pic 1: the stones around the door are ready and getting now a 3D look. Inside of the backbox is now the plate fixed for the PC; there will be in short time also a door and more...... The plate get some holes for the cables which must go to the top of the backbox. Also the wood frame for the backglass is ready, behind this will be the second playfield - the "Magic Blocks" hall.
pic 2: the display is again at his place; i want to see if all is clear and can be placed without problems - it works well. Also the display can´t be seen from the front while playing the machine. I´m very satisfied.......

Re: "Wizard Blocks Widebody" continuation......
Now to the questions......
All what i´m working on this project is made new by myself and all parts i need and can´t find they will produced from me. In this way i get some new (used) machines in the last month like a plastic injection moulding machine; an EDM machine; a bigger image setter and a bigger screen printing machine. The cnc router machine must wait again because i make this machine by myself; but it will be a machine with 5 axis and controller that´s it´s possible for milling in real 3D.
I don´t want to reproduce a pinball machine like the original design - as i see it´s now in progress that there is coming a kit for the P2K owners. My idea was (and i prefer) the widebody design because it gives much more freedom for new ideas. In t his way the original design like the playfield is made from me to the widebody size and that was a lot of work - all what is made now and will be coming will be a lot of work.
The software will be made by myself and it will be a combination of newer hardware with the old simple animations because i want the feeling of 1999. But there will be a lot of new animations because i think it has a big potential of variations, that this machine makes allways a lot of fun to play.
For myself it´s good that there will be now the WB kit for the original machines - i can see what this guys will realize at least. Like the plastics - i don´t show my grahics now - they are all ready and i wait now what happens. Perhaps i get some new ideas if i see her results......

Re: "Wizard Blocks Widebody" continuation......
If there is the time that this P2K machines are running everyone from Canada ( also other ) are welcome here in Germany to play this machines!
Now i make the top door for the PC - it will be a door of wood and the door is allways removable to push the PC outside for service. The PC will get a plate with bearings that it´s easy to move the PC outside of the backbox. If the movable wood door is inside the backglass can be fixed into his place; same construction like the WPC pinballs.
