Setback
I had a plan!
That plan was to cannibalize flipper brackets from Wms. 4 star and use the brackets for the Richelieu. My plan hit the wall when I compared the screw holes under the Richelieu PF.
Those brackets are way too long!
I guess I really need to find a late 40's junk PF or something with a flipper conversion kit I can use. I want to give this machine a second? (probably more like third, fourth of fifth) life so other pinball fanatics can enjoy this piece of canadian history once again but, for that, I need parts.
Before someone replies "Why don't I fabricate brackets". I am sticking to my original plan for this game and will only use genuine period parts the this Richelieu.

Re: Saving another Richelieu
This project is not dead! I'm just biding my time, still hoping to find the right parts for the Richelieu.
But heres an interesting tidbit of history, or at least another small piece of the puzzle of the North Star Coin Machine Company history.
Sea Breeze and Richelieu were made from refurbished parts and cabinets. On the flyer for Sea Breeze, they refer to a "list" of wanted games in the lower left paragraph.
I don't think anyone has that list anymore. Now I like a mystery as much as ne next dude and I've been intrigued by what model games the Tremblay brothers we interested in.
So with the cabinet parts I had that I could see the old Gottlieb art under the flaking North Star Art, I started looking through all the Gottlieb titles of the early 40's and compared the art.
I found that my Richelieu cabinet was originally a 1941 Gottlieb Spot Pool
and the Coin door was from a 1941 Gottlieb Five & Ten
So that's a bit of the mysterious list uncovered
Next....
The flipper theory. I've theorised for awhile that the flipper units for Sea Breeze and Richelieu were from conversion kits I've covered in this old post: Pinball History: The flipper Bumper Revamp Kit
I have recently found clues to corroborate my theory.
I got to look at a mostly unmolested Sea Breeze.
Here is a loot at the flipper unit:
And here's a look at a conversion kit flipper coil in a United Havana
Both have the G273 part number. It's the same kit. Cool!
In other Richelieu news:
I'm recently acquired a wood lockdown bar, I just need an experienced woodworker to reproduce it.
Slowly but steady

Re: Saving another Richelieu
Here's a really cool tidbit of information. I guess this post would be relevant in the flipper conversion kit alos.
I found in a Wiko corp. parts catalogue I purchased at the swap meet a full page ad for conversion kits. Apparently, they had flipper, thumper bumper and slingshot conversion kits.
G-273 coils were part of the Wiko kit.
It's great to see scans of ads online, but it's something else to hold the actual ad in your hands. That's a whole other kind of pinball archeology!
Now I just need to find a conversion kit to put in the Richelieu
