CRT Repair

Postby Espo1713 » Wed Aug 02, 2017 10:16 am

I have a Big Buck hunter machine that has vertical collapse in the monitor (horizontal line). Is there a vendor that sells replacement boards that are compatible with the original tube or is there someone that repairs monitor boards if I mail in the boards without taking out the monitor? Any suggestions would help.

Hello. Your best bet is to take some pictures of the Mon (electronic boards connected to tube) so it can be identified. From there it will be easy to see if replacements are avail or if it can be repaired by people here.

Looks like you have a WG U5000... I'm not 100% certain, but I think I recognize it.
If you prefer sending your board to someone a bit closer, I seem to remember someone on CGCC accepting work for chassis repairs. It might have been Rick Nieman. Might be worth asking the question in their forum.

Good luck

I mailed my board over to Rick at Nieman Displays in Kitchener. He got it working 100% - really reasonable too. Would definitely recommend for any CRT repair.

Great to hear!
Rick was involved in the development of the original G07, so he know's his stuff.
