I put so much time to repair all the non-working lights on the playfield. But finnaly succeed !
Installed the new marquee and bezel. Now she play perfect and monitor is superb. Playfield play very fast and furious !!
Still to do, more cosmetics, cleaning and install the sideart and the cpo.
I made my all time greatest game today. Lot of possible strategy that make this game very fun.
Thanks to internet and all the good people who share their knowledge, that would not be possible unless that.

Ok here's few more events :-)
Bring this Baby dowstairs, had to cut the wall to make the corner !
Few cabinet repairs, installed new t-molding, side art, made some cosmetics painting and add arcade toys on the playfied.

Played few games last night and the game start to freeze randomly after few hours.
I found that a very small vibration on the back door cause this problem.
After a few research the machine stop completely working and the 5 volts fuse on the rectifier board blow.
The problem was a capacitor 4.7 mfd 25v tantalum failed on the 5 volts section from the vidiot board.

Next step, install the new cpo.

CPO done and happy :)

Removed the cpo with heatgun.
Removed the glue with goo-gone, it was much more easier than a mylar glue removal.
Installation of the cpo, a lot of sharp corners to take care.
Polishing hardware and that's it :)

The complete process is about 5 hours of work, have fun !!

Wow, absolutely gorgeous! This machine now looks brand new.
Did you buy the new sticker or you had to make a new one yourself?

Replaced IC TMS9928ANL and that solved the video problem.
That chip is burning my finger when board is on, it's very hot. No surprise it fail regularly.
I'm planning the heatsink mod soon.

According to the datasheet the max free air operating temperature is 70 degrees C. Measuring it with an IR thermometer might give you an indication whether it was just heat combined with age that killed them or there's something else out of spec in the circuit causing them to overheat and fail.
Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Yeah but now this chip run cold with the fan and heatsink, it should last much longer and maybe eternally :) :)

Coin door restoration.
Not a ''professionnal'' job, just a layer of Canadian Tire black spray can paint over the original finish and little polishing.
Installed the new coin door badge ''Bally Midway'' with the rivets.
It look clean and i'm happy with that :-)

Thanks Kev and a bonus, the coin mechanisms are still working perfect, it's fun to
put quarters and start as it was meant to be :-)

But i need the cash box, it's a smaller size than bally pinball cash box.
The sound of the coins falling to the bottom is not the same !!

Thanks for the comments !
One of my favorites of the 80's and only found one decent (price versus condition) after 15 years of collecting arcade games.
I'm happy that all the artwork is available for restoration and in high quality.
A great complement in a gameroom to improve variety ''if'' you like video game ;)

Moved the ''arcade mod'' near the targets, i can see them all the time now when playing :)
