Top of the playfield done. I completed the artwork around switches, pop bumpers and targets.
I removed most of the inserts black rings because they were off center. Also i will redo them a little tinner ''a la Bally''
99% of the surface is repainted now.

Did you do all by hand or is there a stencil kit you can get? How hard was the reassembly? i was looking to do my machine but the playfield would need a major overhaul. Was hoping someone makes an overlay.

I made all the playfield by hand. One of your option is to find an unused cpr F2K repro playfield.

Ready to silkscreen the inserts artwork.
Start the used playfield testing project for a new clearcoat process. 3 layers of finitec 3000 and complete with a few layers of spraymax 2k. Finitec is very sticky direct to the playfield, it will never lift or crack but it's not as transparent as spraymax 2K. Spraymax 2k will preserve the contrast and colors pop.

Finitec is done on this Nine Ball used playfield, spraymax next for testing compatibility. Pretty sure that will be a nice match. After it will be a nice wall playfield art :-)

Little update on this project and yes Spraymax 2K is complatible with finitech.
But the difficulty is to spray enough clear and uniform, that's something i have to learn.
I use it outside and it was difficult to see the quantity of clear on the playfield.

Pour le plaisir de vos yeux, before/after. The harder step ''letters'' will come later :)
I made the black rings smaller than usual for a Stern, i prefer the Bally look, more gracious, the artwork est ''plus en valeur'' de cette facon.

Screening done, this playfield slowly come back to life :)
The color process inside screened letters is next, it took a while to find the right product to make green and orange inside letters look good and uniform. The experimental work is done, now the reality is coming soon !
