I don't get the point of making a mame with it.

Good question.

Rare? Yes.
Valuable? No. Lol

These are apparently common in Japan but not many have made it here. Add the fact that these were generic cabs made to put in various games (like Dynamo cabs), and you get a cab worth something for the coolness value.

Ultimately, it would be insanely costly to restore it to original state. I would have to rebuild the monitor, get a stepdown power supply to give it 100v, wire it completely and install a Tehkan game in it.

And no one would care for it. Lol

I have an empty Nintendo redtent that I will be installing mame in, but I don't want to alter the control panel on that one. But, I have the same dilemma with this cab as well, as the joystick on it is original and quite cool.

Well, I will start by cleaning it up. That is still far down the line.

Keep the suggestions coming...

Lol, ass.

I wish I could find more like these. Would be cool to have some side by side. But I am sure they are not that common up in Canada.

Some more details on these cabs. They are apparently called LAVA cabs. And they were not dedicated. They were designed to have different games in them.

Very cool.

Well, the more I read, the more I think this game should be kept original.

In fact, I wonder if I can get them reproduced....

The tub would be the costly part, but not impossible. I have a metal break (bender). But no welder though.

Hmm....
