Ok, i've fine-tooth combed the net for about 3 hours now... Can't find a clear answer.
I want to build a MAME using a 27-inch Sony Wega Trinitron.
Signal path would be : PC -> video card in 15khz mode -> VGA (RGB) -> some kind of converter -> TV Component input (YUV)
Almost all posts i've read talk about the Crescendo Systems TC1600 VGA to Component transcoder. It is discontinued
Other more recent posts mention the CVS-287 converter (SCART to Component). I would need to make a VGA to SCART cable and mix the sync signals using a 74LS86 chip. Yuk.
Also, someone in Brazil is making a RGB to YUV converter. I'll contact him.
So, my question is : "Has anyone managed to build a 15khz Mame with an old school tv (not an arcade monitor) ?"

On a sidenote, I already know i'll need a fast CPU and a video card compatible with Soft15khz (or something similar but newer).

Re: MAME 15khz on CRT tv ?

This guide also assumes that you’re gaming on a proper RGB CRT monitor.
