Where to play in Nova Scotia

Postby Hoser » Mon Dec 26, 2016 4:20 pm

Hello to all and Merry Christmas!

After a successful reach-out in the Summer, Honey Badger opened his doors to a fellow pinhead in need of some pin. What a great surprise to find out that he lived so close to where we were staying for a family reunion.

Now my brother in law and I find ourselves near Wolfville in Nova Scotia for the week, and are looking for places to play. Public or private.

So, any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. If you know of a place to play, or want to invite us over, we would gladly bring the beverages of your choice.

Happy Holidays,

Hoser

i haven't seen much in nova scotia. ive been going the last 4 years to Halifax at various times of the year. this is a bar on barrington called stllwells. they have a basement arcade with 3 pins. they change the titles a bit too i think. the first summer i went to Halifax , i did a google search and saw this Halifax arcade museum so i thought id check it out .... i went past it like 6 times thinking i had the wrong spot but it was in the back of a variety store. it had 3 machines.. one not working and a beat up supersonic and mata hari. i think that place is called Daily Sweets now. i don't usually check for pins unless im down there and have yet to find one for my trip back, although there was a couple of 200 dollar machines i saw floating on maaca here in the last year for the 600 dollar range?

Hey!

Writing to you from Halifax. Unfortunately, not a whole lot of location pinball here. Stillwell does have a few games. Currently they have a Sopranos down there and I'm not sure what else. Daily Sweets has all but moved out their pins. The Casino has an AC/DC and a Batman TDK. For public places, that's about it. We have a league now (hfxpinball.com) but we don't have any tournaments while you're here. Send me a PM though, because there might be a private event or two happening...

Cheers

Right inside the Halifax airport is a small game room with three or four pins in it.
Pins: Lightning, Af-Tor, Embryon, Black Hole, Elektra, Stellar Wars, 8 Ball Deluxe LE, Timeline, Silverball Mania
Vids: Double Dragon 619-1
Gone: Space Station, Top Score, Flash Gordon, Solar Fire, Haunted House, Fire (x2), Vector, Bally Playboy, Tropic Isle, Beat the Clock, Blue-Chip
WTB: Punk!, Black Knight, Spirit, Cosmic Gunfight, Barracora, Medusa
Its better to have played and lost than never to have played at all.

The handy dandy Canadian Public Pinball Tracker is showing a total of eight games at five locations; I can't vouch on how current these entries are, as they go back as far as 2014 since the last update:

I know this is an old thread, but i could have used an update before my trip... Maybe this will help someone on need of a pinball fix while in Halifax.

The Stillwell on Barrington had two videos and one pinball when i stopped a few days ago; Bubble Bubble, Street Fighter (2, i think) and Bally Mystique.

I will look into this, I bought most of the pins from there but I know there are some left.
Ottawa pinball operator and game technician.
For sale video games, manuals, boards, ask what you need and I might be able to get it for you.

Ottawa pinball repair service is limited.

there's also an arcade at the Chocolate Lake motel. And if you're still in Halifax today, there's a pinball takeover at the library with a couple dozen pins on free play.

Back from NS last week.

Chocolate Lake is best bet. Halifax has a variety of routed pins downtown. Couple at the Casino. Daily Sweets has a few machines.

Best bet is to make the trip to Moncton. Crystal Palace Play Place has a nice SP, Gladiators, WOF, Shrek and some I cant remember offhand.
Also Spin-It records in Moncton.

Check if theres ever a tourney when your there. NS crew are good guys. Lots of home machines.
