Guys I think I'm done for now. It's been a long haul, and a lot of fun. However I realize even over the past year even with covid lockdowns, I've barely touched my machines. I have 2 in torn down state of repair that have been this way for years now. Just too many other things on the go in life right now. I'm sure I'll return at some point. Got my 4 keepers I'll never sell, but I've got 3 projects to unload at some point. I may finish them just to sell. Who knows, started a new job in November.

Cheers, it's been fun times! So long and thanks for all the fish.
Now playing....Dr Who, Pinbot, Black Hole, Mars GOW, Star Race, Stargate, Alien Poker
Now fixing...Circus, Force II

@ cait001 - thanks for the invite. I know JameSchid would enjoy seeing that eclectic collection of yours as well. In fact, we are also due to visit the Pindude come springtime since his collection is always in flux in the up direction. I am hoping for a springtime visit, but will likely be later during the summer of 2021 when it will be a time for all of us to breathe a little eaiser.

@ uberhare - gonna miss your posts and all the cool stuff you dig up and fix.

Just to re-itterate, because I am getting lots of communications as to whether people can buy parts from Alouette and/or Montreal Pinball these days. The answer is buried in a "parts wanted" post here on MAACA, so I think many people may have missed the relevant info. I have extracted what needs to be appropriately posted here in the Daily News.

In Quebec, we were all suppose to go back to work and school after the holiday break on Jan.11th, but instead were informed of an extended lockdown for non-essential business until Feb 8th in la Belle Province (no not the hot dog place)

So here is what is really going on in the amusement parts business and also about the Alouette end of the line machine sales, if any -

For those who have been e-mailing and calling for parts, and wondering why no one is answering the god-damn phone at Alouette, well, you will be releived to know that we had ourselves an old fashion meeting yesterday, (Jan.11th) in that 70's looking conference room with the nice fake flowers on the table and decided that we will be coming into work as usual for the next month of confinement and we now promise to answer the phone going forward (except Mondays when it is touch and go for who gets to pick up before the dead end/cul de sac answering service kicks in) and will continue to fix shit no matter what it is. I think the point is to stay busy, it always has been, especially since this may be the end of civilization s we have known it. These are at least exceptionally nasty days and keeping busy helps to keep us sane.

(we are down to the real bottom of the barrel now as far as machines are concerned) but we are still shipping parts by Canada Post and keeping busy as per usual, but no counter sales since our doors will remain closed & locked to that rabble of the noobies and the general public who has no idea what is going on when they walk into this time warped space.

Since I don't like the term "curb side pick up", (sounds like a dog defecating on the edge of a sidewalk and/or then just looking for a good time), so yes, please continue to curb your dog, and know that I certainly won't deal with that scene. Yet I can definitely & willingly leave your prepaid well packaged parts order at our front door during business hours when you tell me to. Woof woof.

Maxed out at 10 machines, no more no less. Toujours a 10 machines, pas moins pas plus.

A philosophy of doing shall rule until the days when I can no longer "do" arrive. Because when I am too old to wipe my own ass, adjust an AX relay or relieve a woman friend from sighing, there will then only be memories to fill my time. So, the task at hand is to build a RRSP of occurrences to recall come hell or calm tides.

In real life I always preferred the exceptional qualities in any normal state of affairs. But alas, so many of us have suddenly become exceptional via a world wide web of self-promotion upheld by the new dumb that it has made the quest for something truly exceptional much more difficult to notice.

I hear you. Not easy. I have sold 9 machines in the last while. Not as fun without having people over.

I used to laugh at the old motto... "It's more fun to compete".... I am not a tourney-oriented person. But I would love to just be around more people. I find that the machines are a grim reminder of what I am missing, and tend to avoid them now.

Stay positive, keep the keepers, and look forward. That's all we have right now.

Yeah we could probably offer tours and have people wanting to travel in for a tour of our dual collections LOL

So sad those EM arcade machines are considered bottom of the barrel, someone rescue them!
