I remember hearing of a guy stealing a canoe from canadian tire...same idea, people (and staff) just watched him walk out, assuming he must work there or something.

Er... Have you considered using trackers? They have come down a lot in price and are small and easily hidden in your machines.

Bullshite theives, old man was cop, private security after for decades, worked a bit with him on private investagations. no magnum pi stuff but from what ive read it sounds like a inside job maybe. If not follow up investigation ie cameras should have lead somewhere vehicle outside etc. sooner than later it'll surface. most usually surfaces closer to point of theft than you'd imagine. will keep eyes open.

I got a service call on a Monopoly a few years ago and While I was working on it I noticed two things, it had loonie mechs and the game looked HUO. Monopoly's got played when they were new are showed signs of age rather quickly in commercial use.

I remember a Monopoly got stolen from and arcade in Kempville back in 2002 or 2003 and it was almost new at the time but it was never found.

Anyway while I was in there I also noticed that there were no serial #'s on it anywhere, all had been removed so I could not prove anything. I asked the guy where did you get this thing and he said my brother in law. I said I think this machine is stolen. He said how do you know and I said first of all it has loonie mechs, it is in like new condition and there are no serial #'s on it anywhere. He paid me for the call and immediately sold the machine.

It has changed hands 10-15 times since. Who knows where it is now.

Risky telling him it was stolen. That could have gotten you into some serious trouble. Hell you might of ended up at knife point! I would have just kept my mouth shut and then reported it to the police.

Well I don't think it was risky, I think it was stating the obvious.

If you have a stolen product that you want to repair or sell you should NOT go to someone that has been in the business for years because they may have a little knowledge of where it came from.

There are a lot of thieves in this small community and it is very frustrating to see how these people rip others off. KIJIJI wanted ads are a part of the thieves!

I wonder if Bob has sold the Area 51 with the broken monitor??? That just needed an adjustment. That game needed a new picture tube after what was done with it!

Nope Unfortunately not.
I had Recently had my star Trek in there for 3 months at 100% profit.
Then last week go for collection somebody forced the back glass on it and played with the dip settings and managed to blow my sound
So pulled machine said your done with pinballs never again.

I didn't know that there were dip switches but if there are... How do you blow the sound board playing with them?

Wow this theft is now officially 8 years old as of today when the machine grew legs and never to be seen again.

This beyond blows my mind that nobody has ever seen this machine again.

It is most assuredly in someone's basement. Like most high-end pins, they are trophies and not seen nor played much. But... who knows. It might pop up for sale one day. Keep your purchase receipt and police report. Some unassuming soul will eventually put it up for sale out in the open. Almost inevitable. Too many resellers out there for it not to happen at some point.
