considering the weather and the holiday season, there was an absolutely stellar turnout for tonight's tournament! great to see the TARG regulars, Pinball Women Ottawa, and the folks from the Pub coming together to compete.

very special thanks to sponsors Beau's Brewery, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Stiegl, and Collective Arts for the prizes.

next month's event will be held on Wednesday, February 1st - stay tuned for our weekday tournament schedule and Sunday tournaments planned in 2017.

congrats to tonight's winners:

Grand Champion/1st - Jason M
2nd - Dwight B
3rd (Tie) - Geoff P
3rd (Tie) - Jason F
6th (Tie) - Chris A
6th (Tie) - Jay Y
6th (Tie) - Matt S

Huge thanks to Monty for giving up his time to run the tourney. Another huge thanks to Geoff for making sure all the pins were cleaned and playing well. Because of you two it made for an excellent tournament...thank you very much!

new article from today's paper - it was a follow up/response to a NY Times article about things to do in Ottawa in 36 hours. they recycled the pic from a previous article about OPGS i think.

I'll never get sick of pinball getting press. So happy that there is so much going on in this city that so many news outlets have printed stories. 2016 saw how many articles mentioning pinball in Ottawa?

It seems that I always have a ton of work to do before these things. I will try and get the games tuned up but I am not sure if I will have time.

Tron is not going to be ready and Skateball is down, I am not sure if I will be able to get it working today.

I have a bunch of tweaking to do and I am hoping to get everything up to top notch before this one.

Tron is good to go now. I just need to change a few rubbers and clean it.

Skateball will be ready also.

Skateball is one of the truly underated early 80's Ballys! Aside from some Backglass/art issues (perhaps just not my personal taste -- reminds me of the dreaded Future Spa), this game _should_ be up there with the ones everyone goes apeshit over..
Grant Goodes
Stern: Meteor, Nineball, Seawitch, Lightning, Cheetah
Bally: Fathom x 2, Centaur
Gottlieb: Black Hole
Wanted: Catacomb, Solar Fire, Balls-a-Poppin Seawitch backglass
Lust-worthy: Funhouse, Skateball, Capersville

to each his own, but i love the art package on Skateball!

Greg Freres may have a few black marks on his resume (Hard Body  ) but the man has produced some real artistic gems:

Without getting into sexist details, there's one chick on the BG of Skateball that really doesn't do it for me. 'nuf said.

That guy looks like Duncan Brown and it it is he is the guy pictured on Eight Ball Deluxe too.

I forgot to ask him last time I saw him at Allentown back in 2000. He was working for Williams until they closed the pinball division.

Does anyone know?
