From 1982-1985, I spent every waking moment on that thing.
... I saved my pennies in order to buy the disk drive (...which I believed cost $395 back in the day ) .

I also read every page of Compute Magazine, and became quite versed with Jim Butterfield's SuperMon assembler editor.

I could "poke" and "peek" my way through anything.

I even wrote a version of Lunar Lander in pure assembler language,
... which even today still impresses the hell out of me.

I played it again for the first time in 30 years last week, and was quite amazed
at how much work and detail went into that.

I want to export all my floppies to SD cards to preserve the data,
but I haven't look into that yet.

Yes and no...

I have piles of hand-written pages with lists of games,
but no way to really identify which disc they're on.

... but seriously, I probably have them all...

I just recently played Impossible Mission, Beach Head, Pogo Joe, JumpMan, Lode Runner, Ultima 4,
plus all the C-64 versions of the Arcade classics ( PacMan, Defender, Robotron, Zaxxon, Centipede, etc... )

It was a walk down memory lane.
... my kids think I'm crazy... ;-)

but if anyone on this forum has done this, kindly let me know.

Thanks,

Our family had a Commodore Vic20, and I remember being so envious of my friend who had the Commodore 64. GiJoe, Jumpman, Space Taxi, and Impossible Mission were my favorite games.

Thanks for the offer, but what I'm really looking for is to save my disks to SD / rom archive.

I'm pretty sure I have alot of unique or non-archived stuff,
and I'd like to preserve and share those ,
... before my floppy disks disintegrate into dust.

Way back when I was the guy that ran the Commodore webring (remember those?). I have the Commodore logo tattooed on my chest. (Mistakes were made)

I gave away truckloads of stuff years ago when downsizing, but I still have my Amiga 1200 in a box.
Sharing my space with: Meteor, Tag Team, Dragon, Centaur II, Middle Earth, Xenon, Elektra, Mata Hari, Star Trip, Street Fighter cab w/Premium 8

I had a commodore 128 that was outdated with the next generation of computers before many programs were written for it but you could boot to 64 mode, with the command Go64. Hours of typing in your own game codes from commodore magazines and yes, jump man and Paradroid was a favorite.
I moved on to an Atari 1040 instead of the Amiga.
Collection: MM,MBle,CCle,AFM,HS2,SM,PFle,JJPOTCLE,WCS94,EBD,FT

Owned in the past: RFM,AvengersHulkLE,Elvis,EBD,EB,SegaGZ,T2,WWind,CFTBL

Awesome! I cut my programming teeth on a C64. Moved to C128, then Amiga, ultimately give in to the clone world and left computers.

I used to run Color64 BBS on 2400baud with an IEEE 10meg HD. Those were the days!
Now playing....Dr Who, Pinbot, Black Hole, Mars GOW, Supersonic, Moon Flight, Firepower
Now fixing...Circus, Force II

After having my fun for a few weeks,
I really don't want to put all this stuff back in storage.

I'll keep one set-up, but sell everything else
(... I mean, c'mon ,... how much computing horse-power do I really need !!!! ;-)

Let me know if anyone is interested in anything.
(I'm located in Ottawa ).

I'll be posting on Kijiji too.

Thanks,

Heya Steph!

You should read this article, it isn't too tough to back it all up, just takes some time. http://stevehanov.ca/blog/index.php?id=133
The only part you'll need is zoomfloppy. http://store.go4retro.com/zoomfloppy/ and a working 1541 drive with cabling and so on.

Also mentioned is an adapter to run it all in the future off SD cards.

Those Monitors accept RGB at 15k right? Would you be selling any?

Yah, I saw that site, and have ordered a ZoomFloppy.
I guess I'm in for a few nights of disk transfers...
