Thanks for the invites everybody. I wish we could've made it everywhere.

There's never enough time for everything. Had a couple good visits on the south west end which limited possibilities. We saw some pretty amazing machines and had some great conversations last night as well.

I was at Targ this afternoon, I was uninspired. Played a few games on EBD and left.
Really?!?! Please elaborate?

Were the games working well? Or maybe we didn't have what you wanted to see?

We try to keep all games working well and change them regularly, feedback is a good way to know what people want but at the end of the day we can't please everyone.

I was at Targ most of the day and if I didn't have to drive I would still be there!

I love the atmosphere in that place, I feel at home while there. The staff are amazing! Daisy was working the bar today, she is amazing!

Maybe I like to see people smiling when they play these games, yes I do. That is why I got into the business!

Targ is in the basement but we try to make it the best for everyone!

Have fun everyone!

I might as well remove the second part of my previous comment to avoid giving people the wrong idea about Targ.

Dont worry Geoff, You and Josh are doing a stellar job with Targ.
The lineup is super, the games played well and while I was there I saw a bunch of people playing pinball, laughing and having a great time.

If I didnt feel like staying any longer it's because of my personal failings as a human being.
I felt the same way going to the NS, the PHOF and the myriad Vegas casinos I've walked through.

Also, I'm not the typical Targ patron. I have a basement full of pinball machines all to myself.
I'm not a fan of "modern" pins, pretty much anything made after Comet, save for a few exceptions does not turn my crank.
I'm a EM pinball nut and Colin in his comment is not far from the truth, I like the old gambling machines as long as there's no actual money in jeopardy.

As many might think, an operator is in it for the money. LOL These days an operator is in it to survive. I got into the business in 1985 and it has changed a lot.

Over 30 years I have been doing this and when I see one person smile it makes me happy.

How many people can say that their job makes them happy?

Tonight was an amazing time! if you can deal with the crowds, Targ sundays when there is a holiday on Monday are quite amazing.
Sent you an email with a few random fixes needed. Almost none of the crowd did anything annoying, like start a 4 player game for themselves. :)

holy crap Double Dragon is way more difficult in the arcade than on NES.
I always love seeing the crowds around Space Invaders and Astroids. And the enthusiastic competition around the Chexx hockey was raucous all night long. It is an amazing addition to the place, and I hope it is doing really well.

Yeah, but it may be worthwhile to bolt Ghostbusters to the floor because there were people straight up dropping it.

Or maybe a sticker that says:
  • You can't death save on Ghostbusters
  • That's not how you death save anyway
  • Watching YouTube doesn't make you a pinball star

Oh! Another story from last night. As Cait001 mentioned, the place got pretty busy because of the holiday today, and there was a lineup for all of the machines. There was one dude hitting Batman Forever over and over, and I wanted in so I dropped a quarter on the table... as you do. Well, he finished his game, I went to play, and the dumbass walked away with my ^#$% quarter. I had to HEY BUDDY him and he was like "Oh, I didn't think you needed it" as he gave it back.

Raise your kids right. Teach them what a quarter on a pinball game means or they're going to end up at Targ desecrating the lessons of your youth.
