Nifty solution.

I made fuse caddy's out of CanTire boxes a few years ago: viewtopic.php?p=81126#p81126

Handy cases if helping out another pinhead at their home.

I use very small ziplock bags and write on the bags with a sharpie, then just keep them all sorted by value.

Locked on pop bumper on my LOTR.

Put in the replacement coil with the hope that I noticed in time and did not take out the transistor. No dice, I need to remove the PCB and replace the transistor.

Yesterday I picked up a driving mame for real cheap. I brought it home and seems like the computer died. Oh well, shit happens.

But I am still very happy. The parts alone are worth more than what I paid for. AND, the cab is super nice. So... I will fix it up.

I may install a computer steering wheel on it. What was installed was modified and quite ingenious, but probably will fail in time. Yeah, not very arcade-ish, but more durable. Suggestions are welcome as to which to get.

So now, I will attempt to recover the mame programming in the sata drives. I will know if they are the culprits or not. But yeah, a nice used computer (cheap), a steering wheel (under 200$ with a shifter and pedals...) and some elbow grease, and this thing will live.

Also saw rumors on line that the florescent bulbs in modern stern backglasses were "rotting" out the ribbon cables. I went on Ali Express and grabbed a few LED tubes for my Sterns.

Light compare, LOTR is LED and MET is standard florescent bulb.

I have no room in the house to bring in a whole machine, so I decided to just use a bally head to work on the bally boards. I have repaired a couple MPU's and displays, now I need to do some drivers. I have a lot of Bally solenoid driver boards.

UPDATE.

These LED tubes are junk.

Had a chance to play one of my pins for more than 5 min and the tube started to go on/off.

Could a different "starter" possibly be needed?
