Yup, I rarely lose/misplace tools … but when I do it always the GD tape measure. How do you misplace bright orange objects?? Who knows but I assume they end up with lost laundry socks?

Shopping out Rock. I did the ground mods and reburnished the board connector edges. Now plays super solid.

New flipper assemblies for BSD. Wired up with differently pinned connectors, short protection and colour correct wire.

The lamp and switch harnesses are in, everything tested. Coils next.

picked up this beautiful Twenty One machine from 1936, by Groetchen.
20210706_094813.jpg
It needed a bit of work to get running properly but is now playing really well. Slot mechs have "pumps" that slowly release the handle (to stop the wheels at different times) and this pump needed to be lubricated and adjusted.
Absolutely brutal game of blackjack.

gameplay:
insert nickel, pull the handle. You only get to see the 2 right-most cards. Want another card? push the right button to get one. Another? Push the next button to reveal your 4th card. If you're happy with them, press the House button to see what the house had.
But once you push the House button, you can't reveal any of the other cards. And you can't reveal your 4th card until you've revealed your 3rd card.

here is a video on it if interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKhWdGHeG9s

look at how sparse my (normally dense) signature want list is!
Now I'm looking ahead to eventually saving enough for a Deadpool Pro and (one day maybe in the next decade) a Medieval Madness

I have had 3 people contact me over the weekend, asking to get into the hobby. They asked me to find a working solid-state pin between 500 - 1000$.

I unfortunately had to tell them that it would be easier to install a flux capacitor in a Delorean and go back to 2005...

Again, 2 people asking me to sell them pins just in the last 24hrs. I am almost tempted, as most discussions today in the hobby center around pricing.

It reminds me of the time I was into cars 20+ years ago. The pattern is the same. Prices started going through the roof on some cars, and everyone started seeing dollar signs. Many left the hobby then.

I try grasping on to an idea of the past where people didn't care about value. They just did it for the love of it. And with not having anyone at home for 16 months, I may have just lost the attraction of the social concept. Dunno... I guess I kind of just got used to being alone with my things. LOL

I decided to shake things up a bit and start changing out the gameroom layout. I will move the 3 Final Laps and put them in an L-formation in a corner. As much as I like having them in a line, that 30-foot wall looks better with all pins lined up.

Hell of an undertaking, but why not.

Got the carpet through Astro Carpet Mills. They manufactured to our colour choices and shipped it up. Had to get a customs broker but it wasn't all that difficult. Ended up being under $2K including installation. It really makes the room!
