I realized that R.A.B. is correct as usual... (He generally and almost always is.)

The "world" is no longer ours. (despite our parents and whom is in charge now)

That leaves us with "what? my friend"? It is almost time to "go" now. (soon)

The last gambit and the last "big hurrah". Here we come. Interesting...

Brought another Pitch & Bat back to life!

A fun little project. The backglass is 'rustic' but everything else is solid. It plays very nicely. So many mechanicals to go through & switches to clean!

When "What did you do today in the hobby" is no longer the real deal and it is about business... This to me sends the "death knell" message that this is no longer a forum of participants, collectors, enthusiasts and friends of 10+ years or more...
Participation has been waning on this site for a very long time. Despite several attempts to revive interest: I find myself at odds with no longer caring to revive anything that no one participates collectively and actively in. It is a problem for me.

I have read every thread here for the entire time I have been a member. I have been a moderator; friend, + participant to all. And yet; today, I no longer feel like posting anymore. I think in general, there is no 2.0 "pour moi". I will leave it all.
Other than access to the 3 novels worth of pinball information here that I have contributed to this site in the last 10+ years or so... I am perhaps relegated to "deliveries" + buying + selling pins and perhaps, submitting minimal content moving on ...

We shall see how this plays out in the next week or so.
I am on events for all of July, but I will check in on Mondays.

Cheers. Salut. Enjoy it all.
All the very best my friends.

Not sure there will be much more soon anymore.

So 'business' has no place on MAACA? Geez, better not tell RAB. And what's this got to do with this particular thread? Why are you spamming the Forum?

I'm no entrepreneur. It's a hobby for me and I definitely haven't made money on pinball.... that said, if there weren't people making a living out of it, there would be no way for me to repair and restore my machines. There'd be no way to get them from one end of Canada to the other. There'd have been no pinball in the first place to enjoy. There would be very few places in Ottawa to play, and fewer pinball shows to show off my hobby collection.

There's more than enough room on MAACA for the people that sink every spare dollar into their passions and for the ones who support them by liberating them of those spare dollars in exchange for parts and playtime.

I think what Warlock is saying is that apart from the buying and selling of machines /parts and the bitching about prices, there’s very little discussion going on in here. I agree.certainly feels like the hobby has been taken over by folks just looking to make a quick buck with no effort. The same douchebaggery we saw with the pandemic and masks, toilet paper, etc. hopefully the pinball supply shortage will end soon and the douchebags will go after some other item in short supply.

However I do see some effort to bring back some tech talk etc, which is a good thing!

So today i continued (albeit unsuccessfully) to chase down a short in my EM. Was intermittent now unplayable. Can’t score 1000 pts it shorts out. I have ruled out the pf as the short is still there with the pf disconnected.

It’s not a score reel coil (shorts on all 4 players) nor is it the chime unit since it’s electronic sounds and i disconnected that board to be sure.

It’s down to the scoring motor(cab) or the player unit(head). Maybe something for next weekend. I have already gone over the pf and cab switches and relays as part of my restoration. Head was left but the game was playing well up to now.

Busy day,....a scoot to the other side of Toronto to pick up some play things, and then a stop in at DRAPL since the shop I picked these up was 6 minutes from there. Got home, drilled out the locks on the cocktails and to my delight Circa 1933 plays. Missing a drop target that I'll steal from EROS since there's no MPU in it. The slot was just bonus .....
Then I carried on with the backyard makeover.....got the back wall done and my flag up so that makes me happy.

If anyone has a drop target and the funky little rod that holds it in place plus an EROS MPU for sale reasonable I'd dance naked at TARG some night. :FP:

How many years did you work as a CO and never picked up how to rake a wafer lock? I'm going to have to run a how-to seminar for pinheads the next time there's an event!

Backyard looks great but, ummm, if I were in the Guelph area, could I drop by and gab about pin ball? But, more importantly, how deep is the tub? Is it heated?? And do I HAVE to wear my Speedos???

Speedos?? Only if you're a hairy fat European male, otherwise it's shorts.

Well the hot tub is heated but that cold tub isn't. Gab??....heck I'd even let you fix something. 🤪
