Then managed to get him an awesome Hang Glider backglass for $40 just a few minutes from his house yesterday.....needless to say he's an extremely happy guy.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
I spent quite a while getting this together: http://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2022/ ... se-tv.html
I have documented the arcade machines in 8 different Japanese TV shows, circa 1967-1979
ウルトラマン (Ultraman) episode 30 まぼろしの雪山 (aired 1967-02-05)
ザ・ガードマン (The Guard Man) episode 118 大泥棒一家 (aired 1967-07-07)
鴨川シーワールド (Kamogawa Sea World) (1972)
五番目の刑事第9話 (Fifth Detective Episode 9) (aired 1969-11-20)
特別機動捜査隊 (Special Mobile Investigation Team) episode 741 (aired 1975-11-12)
がんばれロボコン (Ganbare!! Robocon) episode 83 (aired 1976-06-25)
秘密戦隊ゴレンジャー (Himitsu Sentai Gorenger) ep 61 (aired 1976-09-18)
ザ・スーパーガール (The Super Girl, aired 1979-1980)

Nothing very exciting here. I spent the firstbday of my vacay just organizing stuff, going over all the boardsets I have, and drawing stencils for Xylog's baseball game I will be painting.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
a book I did a huge amount of research for is now available:
ものと人間の文化史 188 玉ころがし by 杉山 一夫 (Cultural History of Things and Humans 188 Rolling Balls by Kazuo Sugiyama)
http://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2022/ ... 88-by.html
get yourself some classic Meiji era arcade action!
(not available in english)
fixed Kick Off and got it back in the lineup. My fading eyes are having a lot of trouble with switch gaps!
I continued my project on Japanese elecmeca arcade games, finishing up 1978 and moving on to compiling 1979.
and have been doing a lot of research on bagatelle history. Same ol' same ol'

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
oh wow I had no idea that was a real thing that was sold? I'm familiar with a guy who makes Japanese arcade miniatures and assumed this was one of his. http://bcaweb.bai.ne.jp/miyooo/
I had no idea it was sold (widely! and still available!) as a model kit. The guy who made it does extensive arcade miniatures and in my research of early Japanese arcades, some machines only had a single photo online, of his model! lol (I think the person is responsible for both, I might be wrong) If you ever want to build it and sell it, I'd totally buy it when done for like $100

My eyes are not good enough to work on something like this any more.

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Well, yesterday was a bit more productive than this weekend. LOL I started clearing a gradual path to the "hoarding room" where some projects await. I have 5 machines leaving soon (repairs, sales) so I can now start emptying the basement spare bedroom with the projects and tons of parts.
I will be most assuredly giving away most of the parts boardsets I have accumulated over the last 15 years. I find myself at a point where I am less attracted to the prospect of working on them. Nothing of great rarity, but I will be keeping the boards for games that I have, or that have common parts.
I guess what it comes down to is like the TV show Hoarders... make 3 piles... Keep, Give/Sell, and Toss.
I know it sounds bad, but it prevents me from moving along on certain projects. I am into painting cabs these days, and there is Warlock's Old Chicago in there that is screaming at me to get done! LOL. Especially since the bg is beutiful, and that I got the game running. The cab is shyte. We will fix it. We have the technology.
Same for Viking, Solar Fire, and Farmboy's Xenon. Not counting the Fathom lurking in the back. LOL.
So yeah, the boards and spare parts must go. Keep? Goes in storage or shed/shop. Give? Goes in boxes to be shipped out. And I will avoid the Toss pile as much as I can.
The list of projects may look daunting, but by clearing the junk around them, it is rather exciting! More games out there to be enjoyed by many, instead of dying slow deaths. All good!

Spent the day yesterday on a Game Plan Coney Island....not successful in getting it working. But I learned some things so that's a win.
I hate computer boards....

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
I spent a small fortune helping out a friend with a Killer Instinct 2 he bought. Board occasionally resets. Sent the board out (multiple times), gets the drive reprogrammed, and it works for a while, but ends up resetting after a few days of being on (it is in a bar normally).
New power supply, new connectors, new SS drive (3 times...)... I will burn this fucker in my back yard.
If anyone is looking to buy a KI2 board, let me know and make me an offer. Reprogram the drive and you are gold for a while, provided it is not left on for hours.
This is why I like older games. My interest in vids stopped in 1991. LOL

Re: What did you do today in the hobby?
Didn't everybody's? ?
Got a Coney Island and my Alien Poker working today with full accolades to Dave Astill.
Plus got an email from Freeplay40 on Pinside that my new ramp for High Speed is already on its way here. Was thinking it would be a month or so.....space crunch coming up again real soon.
Sigh...
