Well after more than 2 years of sitting in pieces - my Shadow lives again. I started to fully strip the upper playfield over 2 years ago to shop-it. Everything thing top-side was cleaned and all the metal guides put back and everything was re-rubbered but I was waiting on the new plastic set and once it (and a few other parts) arrived - I never seemed to find the time to put it all back together. Well this past weekend was the time - I had a rare free weekend and a few free nights to start the week so I got it all back together. Just fired it up and damn every single light and switch just fired right up - not a thing out of place - played my first game and flawless. Going to play me some Shadow now - been seriously missing that game. It feels good to get that done.

Now if only I could find some time to fix a few minor things on my TFTC - oh well, maybe in a few years.

While I had my Playfield Power Board out, I decided to check my fuses.
Sure enough, I found a 10A fuse where it should be 3A.
This is a friendly reminder to go check your fuses.

Nice. In the last while: Fixed a different Austin Powers for a friend with suggestions from Menace on how to solve the problems. Done.
Fixed 5-6 minor issues on pins at the Pint and 5-6 minor issues on pins at Bluffs. Done. Couple trickier repairs upcoming that I will have to read up on first.

Cleaned tumbled and polished a bunch of BSD hardware. Tumbled the yellow colour right off the 3/8" sheet metal screws oops. Bought striped wire, sockets, translite trim and blood red flippers sinking even more money into this project! Waiting for a nice day to naphtha the playfield and see what I have to do to it.

Had a better look and yes it must of come under tension ..
The aluminium strip I used has some clearance..
The wood expands and contacts and is not perfectly level..

Will change the way they are hung up ,
Will put a rubber post between the aluminium and the wood so it has a buffer..
To expand and contract...

Thanks heaps for the post mate as it made me look at it again ..

I was asked to bring my Japanese machines to the Japan Festival at Carleton U yesterday.
It was a great time. Machines were very popular and the performances were amazing.

Also started attaching new shelves in the back room, redoing some wires, and hung a few more marquees.

Oh and if anyone else has Japanese machines they'd like to share I was also invited to a larger Japanese cultural festival at city Hall this summer. Send me a message.

Initiating the new gen into "pinball life" tonight and regularly.
Much as Robert has done at the North Star in Montreal for years...
The process has begun at The Pint in Toronto. Hogtown is catching up, slowly.
More soon enough and as energy and time allows to bring the next gen up to speed in our world.

Finished Beat The Clock today...except for the pop bumpers on order. Definitely a different game to play, good one to have mixed in with others.

I spent more time redoing the backroom shelves. I increased the density of our pantry shelving, all part of the longterm organization effort which is allowing me to expand the basement arcade in various ways. I was always severely limited in how many pins I could fit in there, but now I have expanded heavily into smaller vertical machines, and have 2 new things arriving shortly...

I finally (after 4 years) managed to mount my Space Invaders backbox on the wall in the basement and get it somewhat lit up. I didn't have the best choice of LEDs on hand but simply made use of what I had. The low-light picture doesn't do it justice. It will look great with the correct lighting and once I get around to wiring in some of the chase lights - which might take another 4 years. I still think it is the greatest back-box ever made.

I finally got Arnold's crane and tar pit to work fully for the first time.
I also learned you cannot remove turns from a Gottlieb flipper coil because the big wire is buried deep underneath the thin wire. All I could achieve was 1 less turn.
