Actually can say that after an 8-year hiatus, I'm baaaaaack (as of last Friday)!!!

2 project pins (both non-working)...and I mean PROJECT PINS!!!

One will need some LOOOOVE to bring it back to life. (at least it's complete, but the playfield will need touch ups....lots of them)

The other one...well...err...will need a hell-of-a-lot of loooooovin, to bring back to life, then make decisions (both $$$ and time) to make it actually look good.

If you think you've seen a rough game...you ain't seen nothin' yet! ;)

What are they? Let me get the first one working, then I'll post a pic. :)

Jojo told me that she is confident I'll be able to bring them back to life...so let's see if she's right!

I am ready for the challenge (sorta)... gotta wait for some parts! LOL

more to come...eventually...
+++++++++++++++++
Welcome to...Frosken Pinball!

Current working Pinball Machines: ONE...err...TWO!!! :rock :rock (Bally Black Jack SS, Capcom Flipper Football #2)

Current Arcade1UP Machines: Centipede, Final Fight (pending pickup), Street Fighter II

After a 8-year hiatus, I'm back in the hobby...but with a thinner wallet.

Wanted: The impossible... (i.e.: a 1990-2020 pinball machine priced like they were in 2005-2010...) :FP: :FP: :FP:

Gone but (mostly) not forgotten:
- Bally: Nitro Ground Shaker, City Slicker
- Bally/Williams: Black Rose, BS Dracula (x2), CFTBL, Dirty Harry, Getaway(HS2), Indy500, Judge Dredd, Shadow, Slugfest
- Capcom: Breakshot, Flipper Football
- Gottlieb: El Dorado, Big Shot, Bounty Hunter (project), Gold Wings (Project)
- Stern: Big Game, Cheetah, Meteor (x 1.5)
- Williams: Big Guns, F-14 Tomcat, Fire!

I had this old Star Trek head that had mouse piss in the corner :FP:
It was only half good . So I cut it in half , cleaned it and hung it on my wall .

While I was cutting wood for Star Trek I cut a few more pieces . I finished one today and need a few more for myself and some pinheads

OK... here goes:

VECTOR: LED installation complete. Waiting for Siegecraft kit, and need to fix upper GI string.
SF2: control panel rebuilt. New joysticks and buttons, and new t-molding installed. COMPLETE
MK2: control panel rebuilt. New joysticks and buttons, and new t-molding installed. COMPLETE
KI2: New joysticks installed, and upper metal bar on CP repainted. COMPLETE
Simpsons 4-player: Rebuilt the control panel. All works great. BUT... no sound. Tried a new speaker, no go. I put it aside for now. Hopefully it isn't the custom sound chip. But otherwise, plays great.

In the works for tomorrow, leaving home at 5:30am to be in Napanee for 8am for work, then Trenton at a customer's place for machine diagnosis, and then driving to Guelph later in the day to pick up 2 pins I purchased. Then off to Bluffs to potentially fix stuff. Staying overnight in Ajax. Driving back home Tuesday. I then will potentially deliver 3 games in Montreal in the day, or during Canada Day. I will see how I feel. All three games weigh a goddamn ton. One even scares the shit out of me. SF2 is 7 feet tall and weighs 400lbs... fuck this damn hobby. LOL

Working on a Data East Torpedo Alley project for a MAACA member.
Many things were wrong or not working with the machine. Just a subset of the list:
- machine did not boot - MPU corrosion. Pickled board, replaced 3 chips sockets as well as found a bad 6808 CPU & EPROMs. Replaced. Booting fine now.
- burned knocker coil and associated shorted Q41 drive transistor - both replaced.
- switch matrix issue that was caused by previously poorly added wires to a coin switch that was shorted to ground - removed hack.
- missing screws on boards and a few on pop bumper assemblies under playfield - new screws installed.
- one speaker was not working on insert panel - thanks again Lee for a replacement! Bad speaker replaced.
- one dead display and garbled others - waiting for a replacement display board.
- numerous burned bulbs - replaced.
- no GI on left playfield side - caused by CN8 prior hack. New header, repinned with trifurcon pins, removed wires directly soldered
to the underside of the board, reflowed header pins. Working fine now. see pics below for that connector de-hack fix. Fun !

Also received a poor-condition Gottlieb Solar City for repairs/shopping. Missing most rubber rings, was a mouse house at some point,
score motor continuously running, stripped leg bolts/plates, etc.
Started by vacuuming inside the cabinet, removed the legs, gathered the parts needed, replaced a few fuses that were wrong ratings, etc.
Will be fun. The playfield should cleanup nicely.

Happy Flipping!
-Sylvain.
Looking for Bally Star-Jet, Capersville or The Wiggler, Williams Magic City, Grand Lizard, Swords of Fury, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, and a few others.

I recommend this for your tumbler: https://www.amazon.ca/Lyman-Turbo-Media ... 725&sr=8-9
Seems way more uniform and less messy than walnut from the pet store.

I use Mean Green in the ultrasonic.

Setup the new cockpit to work on it. At least this one is made to come apart into two pieces to move it.
monacogp.jpg
Will try and fix the problems it has. If it doesn't work out, I will likely empty out the cab and put another game in it or mame it. Will see. This game has way too many boards/chips due to being one of the last machines that used only logic circuits (no microprocessor). Sorta works. Either way it will be a fun project. Gotta setup the Roadblasters cockpit beside it soon I hope.

Going to teach my buddy how to strip, clean, and LED a game. Figured the best way to do that is to do mine at the same time right beside his. Told him to have his butt here bright and early Thursday.......all so he can get his game for a lot less then I paid for mine.

Finally getting around to working on the Roadblasters cockpit since I have both it and the Monaco GP cockpit that need work.
rb_cockpit1.jpg
rb_cockpit2.JPG
Roadblasters works great, other than the monitor doing weird stuff after the game has been running for a while. I am fairly sure it needs a cap kit. Since I couldn't find anyone in Canada selling cap kits for the WG7000 series of monitor I just went ahead and ordered most of the caps from digi-key.

Also been working on the Monaco GP. Going back and forth from the schematics to the boards/wiring and can't seem to find the problem with the steering. Everything works except for the steering. Previous own also did a lot of work trying to find the problem but never was able to find out why it wouldn't work either. He had a lot of hours spent trying to fix the problem and the guy does a lot of board repair work. And yes I did test the actual steering wheel and it works just fine.

Looks like the Monaco GP cockpit is getting gutted. There is a good reason the majority of these things don't work anymore sadly. Damn thing has nearly 300 logic chips on the boards. Which I am guessing 60% or more could have been replaced a dozen programmable ROM chips.

Sadly you can't save them all. But I will make her live again as something new ;)
