What did I do today?

My dream of a larger basement have come true!

Recently purchased the house next door so I can look after my mother, huge basement that she will never use.

Soon, for the first time ever, I will have my entire collection in one space with more room to host events when the pandemic is over.

Plans to remodel this space underway

8 down, 10 more pins to move in!

Life is good

WOW CRAIG! amazing

But aren't you going to remodel BEFORE you move the games in? or just try and cover them up and move around them while you work?

I dissassembled 32 machines in the basement. Big plans to clean up and reduce inventory soon. And it makes it easier to work on them. I can take a machine, fix it, and put it back. Less floor real-estate.

I will also look into selling a few projects. I do have the complete Tropic Isle pinball that was repainted into a custom zombie theme by Chris Silver years ago. I bought it from his son and never got to it. It may go sooner than later.

Here are some of the threads:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16045&p=136840&hilit=zombie#p136840

Dunno... I may do a post with a best offer type of deal. It is buried in storage right now. I would have to dig it out. But I rather dig it out if sold. I don't really care what I get for it.

Got Algar cleaned up....now to set up Scorpion beside it and go at it tomorrow.
When I've done all I can do it'll be time for smart people to look at the boards and connectors.

Added one of Dino's Pin2DMD's in my IJ last weekend. This was the same IJ I was talking about somewhere in the first few pages of this thread!

Great price and looks pretty good. I also have a WMS DMD for sale in case anyone is interested.... ;)

More disassembly. Games put in storage so I can renovate the basement a bit.

I am about to pull out a few games like Space Mission. It will go up for sale. I need to make space. It is in decent condition but time to thin the herd more.

Well, in the midst of tearing games down to make space, I finally got to Sub Pack. Funny thing is that I offered it to someone, but when I looked at it, I said to myself "hmm... would be nice to fix this... and that... and that..."

I ordered parts. LOL

I cleared space in the basement room for the first time in 2 years. Jesus.... I can now reach long-dormant projects. I can't play much, but at least I can fix them!

I should have 3 more games out the door by next weekend. Then I may be able to fix that room up, finally.

After today, 5 more machines out the door this week. As much as I have picked up 3 games in the last couple of weeks, space is clearing up slowly and gradually. I now can walk around my back room. LOL

Next on my "wtf do I do with this" list is the Bally Sub Pack mechanical arcade. I offered it to someone here, and they want it but have no space. I will quickly fix a mechanism in it and see what I can do. Just afraid to... LOL. If I get it running, I may not want to get rid of it. LOL

I will see. If the person I offered it to doesn't want it, I may offer it to a museum. Who knows. ;)

I fixed my lack of sound on my 4-player Simpsons. The damn switcher was no longer pumping out 12v. Simple enough. Not really worth mentioning in my repair log. Lol

Power on my project Taxi for the first time in years... and it still boot! My repairs weren't bad after all :)

But not playable yet :(

A few mechanical issues with the swap so a little bending (ajustement) to finally have a ball rolling on the playfield (a switch stucked, blocked kickout and spineout flap blocked the ball)

What's remaining (that I know):

No pop bumpers (the fuse is missing, might be an easy one, but I don't remember why it's missing)
One of the middle-blank drop target doesn't registered (opto?)
Shitty flippers: I can't screw the left flipper (bad crank or shaft?) and the right flipper return only half course (maybe need a new coil, I try a new coil sleeve but it got stock) Sound like a rebuild kit.
Test switches intermittent ( probably find other problem after I fix it :)

So I guess I won't be able to play a game on it in 2020 with the stores closed but looking good to finally play a game before the end of the winter! Only one big project remaining after that, a Super Soccer EM so by 2021 ending it could be the first year since 2007 without a dead pin project (Ice Fever and Spider-man need a little love but nothing major).
