You won’t regret it Mike...
I got mine in July 2017 when it was first released and haven’t had any issues with it.
(Here’s hoping I didn’t jinx myself)

It’s a tough game that needs to be leveled just right but it’s a lot of fun...
Someone from Germany sent me custom code with more of the John Williams music to replace the custom tracks Stern put on the machine. But it’s 1.05 (and I think they just released 1.10).
Not a ton of differences in the code from .05 to .10 but I think there’s a way to convert it over to the new code with Pinball Browser...
I just haven’t ever put the time into figuring it out...
Care to share? 😃

My latest machine in the lineup.... Circus!
IMG_20210113_194012_713.jpg

I had what is basically a once-in-a-lifetime chance to grab a NOS (was NIB basically, but the box didn't survive) 10¥ machine from Japan.
This is from 1978 and is in like-new condition, except for the facts it's been sitting unused for 43 years and there's tiny amounts of environmental corrosion.
These machines had a high fatality rate in Japan as they'd often be placed outside of stores alongside vending machines under the front awning.

These things are pretty much never seen outside of Japan, and are pretty rare even in Japan, and I'm very happy to get it.

You may recall I restored a BSD #1 earlier this year (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic ... a-complete).

I also have BSD #2 which I referred to while restoring BSD #1. I started doing a shop job on it to prep it to sell, but decided I might as well do a full restore on this one too. I'd rather sell something all fixed up!

I've finished tearing the game down, all parts cleaned/tumbled. The cabinet I am redoing the trim as it had been painted red but was nicked and scratched. Going back to original stainless for everything, I bought the VirtuaPin cabinet builder's kit for all the parts. The playfield needs a few small touchups, I'll clear it when the weather is better.

Trying to decide whether to use RadCals again or to use vinyl decals, and if decals, which ones.

It does eventually! There is at least one game in line ahead of it. Going to learn how to do a swap with Meteor first.

Working on Dolly Parton Playfield swap... parts in tumbler / Ultrasonic cleaner while I work on paint touch-ups. PITA that most craft stores are closed, the required paints (createx) are hard to come by these days 🤨

Was scratching my head why Dolly looks « weird » on the replacement Playfield...

After M/E cleaning, you can see the flesh coloured silkscreen slipped during production. Teeth are messed up, nothing a touch of Createx white can’t fix! Note to self at the touch-up time. 🤔

P.S. magic eraser is doing wonder with ball swirls ;-) Replacement Playfield was worse than original before I cleaned it.

So, the task at hand is to build a RRSP of memories in order to joyfully cushion the last stages of life, - all this come hell or calm tides.

I always preferred the exceptional qualities lurking within any normal state of affairs. But now, our day to day is upheld to the realm of the extraordinary via a world wide web of self-promotion fueled by the new dumb. Add to that a saturation of information and useless hype making the ability to care and follow through with real action quite unlikely. The natural power of youth ( and life) has now finally been overwhelmed, stunned, quieted and sold.

To me, it looks like the white teeth were not cut properly. If the white slipped then the eyes would be off. If the skin colour slipped then you would see it in other places as well.

I have the same gun and this is the best tool to have on hand when doing a complete Playfield swap. Doing wonder on the light sockets and braid wire.

I found the original tip is too small and to be plugging constantly. I ordered several N61-10 (1.6mm) and the6 are great. I ordered them here but they are available elsewhere as well. Make sure to get the matching cleaning tool as well.

Melted a newly rebuilt linear flipper coil on my new Xenon due to a mis adjusted EOS switch 😡 Probably moved out of alignment in shipping and I was too eager to try playing it. Lesson learned!

If someone in the Montreal area having a spare AQ-25-500/34-4500 and sleeve I am now looking for one.
