I stumbled upon a few 1960s and 70s documentary film clips from British Pathé featuring some pintables i.e. pinball, EM arcade games and various types of gambling machines.
Apparently, only scientists understand how these machines work!
Slot Machine - AKA Slot Machine Age (1964). What they call slot machines are really just coin-operated machines in general. There's a guy playing pinball in the throes of "slot machine fever", and a bunch of vending machines :

Pin Tables Exhibition AKA Exhibition Of Amusement Equipment (1968)... mostly odd arcade games, including a large dog-racing gambling machine :

More from an amusement arcade, 1969, with gambling machines :

Pintable And Juke Boxes (1970-1979). Those don't look like scientists repairing those machines... they look like hippies!

This last one is only viewable on their site, in small... it's a bit about pachinko... again, they call the pachinko balls "pinballs", and there is a bit of footage showing the making of them :

Great links, especially the first 'slot machine' clip, thanks! I can hardly wait for the Automatic Supermarket!
