Pinball in movies !

Postby Gritboy » Fri Apr 05, 2019 12:32 pm

I already see a thread like this on other forum and i think its a great subjet .
I'm always surprised when i saw a pinball or and arcade in a movie or in a TV series . Here is the place to identify it.

j'ai deja vu ce sujet dans un autre forum et je trouvais cela interessant . Je suis toujours surpris de voir des pinballs ou des arcade dans les film et les teleserie. Ici est donc l'endroit pour les recensés!

SPOILER ALERT!!! LOL

You have been warned...

Stop reading...

Too late. LOL

Captain Marvel.... there is a Bally Space Invaders pinball on a spaceship.

It is craftily modified so that the alien on the backglass doesn't look like... the "Alien". LOL

And a fucking bad guy uses it as a blunt instrument. Asshole...

I nearly cried...

A Centipede also suffers from being at the wrong end of a plasma blast. :(
Because I can...

Not a movie, but I was watching an episode of Timeless the other night and noticed something in the background....google found it was this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pinball/commen ... _timeless/

1938 Champion.

Now why in that particular place would they decide to have that as a prop is a bit of a mystery.

Yeah, posted that fun video on MAACA a couple months ago (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14748&p=213065#p213065) but I really only recognize the best classic Stern pin ... EVER!

Catacomb. 8-)

Thanks to 'uberhare', another video with another awesome pin:

For any of you film, video clip, tv commercial and/or movie buffs who love coin operated games and have about 12 hours on your hands, there is an amazing compilation of the aforementioned formats at the North Star.

This "super cut" is composed of an incredible variety of scenes which have in them pinballs, video games, and coin-op oddities that I didn't even know existed. This super cut is projected at the North Star -Machines à Piastres in a 12 hour loop. You can even see it through the window as you stand on the east side of The Main and look up to the North Star.

There are clips from the 30's to the present. An example I like from the 60's has a clip of a young Paul Newman playing the same model bowler we operated at the North Star. There are too many clips to mention here from over 500 sources, so just go see some of this extraordinary assemblage of images for yourself if you are in the hood, you will be surprised about how little you know about pinball in the movies. It is so unique and entertaining, that you can just sit, sip and watch, or just look up from your game anytime and you are almost always gaurenteed to catch something you have never seen before on that window screen. This super cut by Marc Loeser & James Schidlowsky has been carefully put together and edited, one segment at a time which subtly flow into the next. A long labour of love indeed.

It is entertaining and edifying to see how these machines were such a big part people's lives without necessarily being in the forefront. They were everywhere, again, not always the center of attention, so kinda cool to have an eye for them. It is weird to jump from era to era in the super cut, but makes it obviously that these games have been part of our lives for almost a century, damn .

Maxed out at 10 machines, no more no less. Toujours a 10 machines, pas moins pas plus.
Une règle suivi gueri de tout. A rule respected can cure anything.

A philosophy of doing shall rule til the days when I can no longer "do" arrive. Because when I am too old to wipe my own ass, adjust an AX relay or relieve a woman from sighing, there will be only memories to fill my time. So, the task at hand is to build a RRSP of memories, come hell or calm tides.
